Indian leader hugging Putin whilst his forces attack a children's hospital 10:26 - Jul 9 with 1598 views | Trequartista | I don't really get that. I thought India were our friends and a civilised nation? Nothing is going to change whilst only half the world condemn Russia and the other half are meh or increase trade with him. Perhaps the West should shun India - would that make a difference?

Pragmatism over ideological and I dare say, ethics and morality

Also Russia are supplying India with lots of cheap oil. Oil, weapons, money: the only things that seem to matter in the world at the moment, certainly not childrens lives in Ukraine and Gaza.

Indian leader hugging Putin whilst his forces attack a children's hospital on 13:34 - Jul 9 with 1281 views | OldFart71 | Whether we like it or not there's still a lot of bad feelings in many parts of the World due to our past in and against Countries. India and China cosy up to Russia because it suits them. Our special relationship with America only works one way, they want us to buy their goods, but don't want much of ours. If they go to war we are as far up their backsides as is possible. The EU only wanted us for our money. But in hindsight we were duped by Johnson's promises on there being millions more for the NHS and we could do better with our own trade deals. I still believe we could, but when many in Parliament were and are still dead against us leaving it was and still is a half hearted effort. No doubt unless this Country produces more, is more innovative and forward thinking we will keep paying more and more whilst our incomes get less in comparison to costs. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I could apply the same to Brazil and South Africa, thought they would both have some morals.

Indian leader hugging Putin whilst his forces attack a children's hospital on 15:09 - Jul 9 with 1140 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Not a good look, but despite the hug, India are kicking Putin whilst he’s down on the ground. Like China, India is buying up Russian commodities at a loss to Russia. As for South Africa, they refused to criticise Russia’s war of aggression, as well as some rather dubious goings on:- https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna103597 For the African nations there an element of anti-western feeling, given history. But turning to Russia and China is very much a case of BCWYWF. Russia via mercenaries and paramilitaries have armed (and probably funded) several coups in Africa in order to gain influence and access commodities. China on the other hand is engaged in neo-colonialism, building infrastructure through contracts which are at terms that they know are difficult to be fulfilled, in order to gain future control of key assets or favourable access to commodities.
