According to the BBC report the matching clause means that Villa have three days to match any accepted bid. So if we did go in with a higher bid the clock would be reset, presumably.
I can’t see the benefits to us in doing that though. Presumably there’s a conversation with Philogene to be had about where he wants to go. If he says he wants to come here then no need to prove the bid. If he wants to go to Villa then we probably walk away. | | | |
