Copa America final delayed as fans storm the stadium in Miami on 02:06 - Jul 15 by SE1blue
Saw a tweet from 9pm saying people are still scaling fences to get in. Can’t see it happening tonight.
It’s kicking off in a few minutes. 75 minutes late. Stadium packed. Many ticketed fans locked out. Colombian and Argentinian fans not segregated. Yes, this will end well.
Qu'est-ce que vous chantez? Nous chantons "Les Bleus, allez!"

Same, it’s been enjoyable. Hope they can restore order and get the game on. Saw some awful video of kids being crushed at the turnstiles.
Having lived on South Beach Miami for 20 months, it is all South American Latino's in the Miami area, the only USA or Canadians you see are tourists. It is like you are living in South America. They run about like they are back home. I'm not shocked this kind of pushing to get in free went on at all. I hope everyone makes it home.

Saw a video where fans were getting into the stadium via a ventilation duct. Crazy scenes. Fear what might happen if there’s a late goal or dodgy ref decision

And I’d forgotten half time is longer than the regulation 15, to allow Shakira to perform a half time set.

The Mirror going full The Sun with headlines like “Unruly Colombian fans attempted to force their way into Hard Rock Stadium” under a picture of that small barrier collapsing (under the weight of crushed kids by the looks of that video in the OP).

You’re going to have to explain this one, “They run about like they are back home”, as knowing Miami well, most of Latino population are already home.

There's a lot to unpick there isn't there?
Where's 'back home'? How do they "run about" when they are there? What's wrong with running about in the same manner somewhere that isn't home? Why isn't Miami home?

Perhaps the poster is Gareth Southgate and the last thing he wants is people excessively running about at a football match ?

Why wouldn't Canadians in Miami be actual tourists? Or is an open border to the north OK, but not to the south?

Sorry, but slight off topic. What is fort Lauderdale like? I have almost visited there a few times with stateside friends and just missed out. Is it as great as legend has it?

Shocking. Some, probably ticketless fans breached a gate, the gate was closed, crowds built up so they opened the gates to relieve the pressure. Eerily reminiscent of Hillsborough. Could have been a huge disaster. Clearly the stadium needed better screening protocols to prevent ticketless fans getting close to the stadium. This seems to be a problem at many big football events.

Seen so many Liverpool and Man Utd fans tweeting these videos claiming it’s ‘class’
What is wrong with northern tramps and not paying to get into a game ffs
I very much doubt Liverpool fans (genuine ones) would claim it was class that people were getting crushed trying to get through narrow gates into a stadium.
Would love to see the “loads” of examples you have seen as, frankly, I find it hard to believe unless it’s part of another smear against them.

I'll assume you have just worded that poorly, given ticketless fans were not found to have played any part in the disaster at Hillsborough.
The build up of fans and opening of.gates was down to the poor stadium design, poor policing and lack of adequate turnstiles to allow safe and timely entry to the stadium.

Yes, you are right. I am well aware (unlike some others) that the Hillsborough disaster was not caused by large numbers of ticketless fans, determined to force entry. My wording was careless - the similarity was that the authorities again decided to open the gates to all & sundry in order to relieve pressure outside the ground, potentially leading to a dangerously overcrowded stadium.
