I'm surprised United would entertain any bids for him, he was one of the best performers with Dalot and Mainoo last season. For me, that central midfield area isn't good enough at the moment for us, we need either that creative spark ala Magilton or that box to box type that that can support Morsy in there like a McTominay. | |

I think that fact they are even willing to offers means he can't compare to playing in Man United first team, as he won't be, I know it is probably (likely) out of our reach but thought for something around what we paid for Omari he would be an awesome asset if he would take the pay cut!!! | |

He played most of their games in the premier league last season, he's not going to step away from that in the peak of his career to a side that's just got back to back promotions. I think we can, but central midfielder with prem experience to Man United regular for the last few years who is in the prime of his career is quite a leap.

He fits into the category of older players with a year left on their contract, even the biggest clubs are looking to bring in revenue and he has been there best part of 10 years so every penny counts.

He’s on about £60k per week. Being an academy graduate, it’s always going to be lower than you’d expect, and his new Ineos contract hasn’t progressed yet.
That being said, he ended up staying last summer partly due to his wage demands to West Ham.

Don’t know where I read this, but I saw a couple of days back that he was discussed as being possibly a mainstay of the Man Utd midfield, but this article was saying actually his stats outside of goalscoring are pretty weak - surprisingly weak in winning headers, winning the ball in midfield, passing, ball retention etc. Given that we seem to be going for players that are heavy on the right sort of stats (Delap being a case in point) this seems an unlikely one, even if we ignore the money | | | |
