McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham 10:40 - Jul 17 with 3249 views | itfcpaul | Seems a bargain if you can get him for a little over that...knows KMc from Man United, would fit in amazingly well in the midfield...thoughts Yes, wages might be a lot, but no idea what they are paying him

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 10:47 - Jul 17 with 3045 views | Metal_Hacker | Aggressive scoring midfielder and would be ideal with that experience Not sure he fits the scope of requirement but would IMHO be a real asset but also very expensive as already stated

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 10:48 - Jul 17 with 3037 views | Chrisd | I'm surprised United would entertain any bids for him, he was one of the best performers with Dalot and Mainoo last season. For me, that central midfield area isn't good enough at the moment for us, we need either that creative spark ala Magilton or that box to box type that that can support Morsy in there like a McTominay.

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 10:49 - Jul 17 with 2989 views | _clive_baker_ | He'll be on silly dough, minimum £100k a week and probably quite a bit more. Not to mention the fact he's unlikely to want to go from Man United regular to a newly promoted side, you would think he will have his sights set higher than that.

I think that fact they are even willing to offers means he can't compare to playing in Man United first team, as he won't be, I know it is probably (likely) out of our reach but thought for something around what we paid for Omari he would be an awesome asset if he would take the pay cut!!!

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 10:54 - Jul 17 with 2826 views | BseaBlue | This would definitely be a 'My wage demands exceed what you would be able to offer me' in football manager terms. I'd love us to sign a central midfielder with Prem experience though but think thats unlikely due to being priced out of the market.

He played most of their games in the premier league last season, he's not going to step away from that in the peak of his career to a side that's just got back to back promotions. Its fanciful at best, if its not to be at United it almost certainly would be at a Newcastle / Everton / West Ham etc.

I think we can, but central midfielder with prem experience to Man United regular for the last few years who is in the prime of his career is quite a leap. Berge has been mentioned on here, he would be a great addition and he's probably on a fraction of McTominay's wages.

But that would mean uprooting his family and moving to a dump like Liverpool or Newcastle.. At least if he went to West Ham he could get himself a nice house in Haverhill and commute to work every day like the rest of the town

He fits into the category of older players with a year left on their contract, even the biggest clubs are looking to bring in revenue and he has been there best part of 10 years so every penny counts. Wouldn’t be surprised if Ashton or McKenna have been pouring through data seeking such players, but only if the price is right.

He’s on about £60k per week. Being an academy graduate, it’s always going to be lower than you’d expect, and his new Ineos contract hasn’t progressed yet. That being said, he ended up staying last summer partly due to his wage demands to West Ham. So yes, likely beyond us.

but we can dream.... So in reality are we looking at Berge or Sheaf, anyone else?

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 11:57 - Jul 17 with 1992 views | Churchman | He looks like Luke Chadwick’s love child. On that basis it’s a know from me! On a serious note, I can’t see him wanting to come here after Man U and I’d have thought his wages would be way beyond us anyway.

The only thing I can think of to help is, that he may well have been influenced by McK while at Man Utd..........you never know what the pull of our manager is!!

McTominay - £17m bid turned down from Fulham on 12:16 - Jul 17 with 1734 views | Exiled2Surrey | Don’t know where I read this, but I saw a couple of days back that he was discussed as being possibly a mainstay of the Man Utd midfield, but this article was saying actually his stats outside of goalscoring are pretty weak - surprisingly weak in winning headers, winning the ball in midfield, passing, ball retention etc. Given that we seem to be going for players that are heavy on the right sort of stats (Delap being a case in point) this seems an unlikely one, even if we ignore the money
