I suppose I was looking at the new statutory public nuisance offence which is drafted in terms of an act or omission which creates "a risk of ... serious harm to ... a section of the public" and pondering whether it could be applied to call centres and the like.

To be honest I was stretching things a bit far, and maybe a call centre wasn't the best example, but what about an GP's surgery or even an A&E department which could lead to harm or death by not offering the proper services, with the act or omission being inadequate government funding.

Good grief, first the poster has to endure people walking around in flip flops and now being called Shirley...

Anyway, some of us still carry our cash in a wallet.

Who the hell carries a wallet these days? Genuinely interested what you you in there?

I do, mostly cards. I've thought about getting one of those little card carriers but just never have. I've had my wallet for years and not felt the need to get rid of it.

Liberate yourself Dan. I now carry phone with two card slots. One curve card, one back up debit card with minimal balance.

£10 and 2x £5 notes tucked in the little pocket.

Backed up by Apple pay on phone.

Trolley token on keys.

I must admit, I went to this method after nearly losing my wallet with about 10 cards in it a few years ago.

At the moment, three credit cards, two bank cards, an over sixties card that gives me bus travel all over Scotland and discount on leisure centres, a second class stamp, an unused condom, two fivers, some coins, a Clubcard, a Coop card, a Morrisons card, driving licence, comb and a £3 Tesco voucher. If I go travelling I will add the new GB health insurance card and use the spare pockets for different currencies but I will probably leave one of the credit cards at home.

Should have got a Mac innit. Mine skips along still and will be 13 years old in the autumn. I’m just starting to lose support on work’s Microsoft 360 software (which is fine, the newest versions are crap to use) but for everything else it’s still fine.

That Scotland bus pass must be really handy when you live in Plymouth

The other advantage of a wallet is if you stick it in a back pocket it makes your butt cheeks look more pert. Women pay thousands of quid for a butt lift.

Some of the places I travel I would never put a wallet in a back pocket.

I assumed everyone did that, but based on my experience earlier clearly not.

I particularly enjoyed one bod, who when I mentioned cash works replied it's 2024 not 1954, I was able to reply then in 2024 you'll have to go without your coffee, t0sser.

I don't know, but he was just minding his own business trying to buy a coffee when some old duffer with a dog took the piss out of him, which is likely to put anyone on edge.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I always carry a wallet. Maybe I'm old skool. To be fair, it never has much cash in it. Just various cards, bank,.credit cards, drivers licence etc.

Me too. But mine is a smaller one than a traditional wallet.
