Ex players having a kick-about in the park 19:01 - Jul 20 with 3895 viewsBlueMoon

Saw Andre and Jason Dozzell training / having a kick about in Christchurch Park the other day around lunchtime. Bit surreal.

Didn’t realise he was without a club which maybe explains things somewhat.

Hope he sorts something out soon. Funny old game…

He's on trial at Sheffield United and scored in their friendly match today.

Very surprised at that. Can't see him getting a deal in the Championship, especially with a club like them.

Truly impaired.

He does have the ability to look really good though

Unfortunately he doesn't produce it over a season.

Still wish a club would give the guy a 10 role tho as think he'd actually shine there.

a niche perspective

Yeah he seems entirely the opposite of a Chris Wilder player.

I think he was unlucky with Birmingham. Could have been different for him if Mowbray stayed

Andre D does an awful lot of things well. In fact better than well. But you have to set that aside from the things he’s not so good at. I hope he finds a good club soon - I suspect it may be L1 which is fine, providing it’s a good club.

I think he is more than capable to play in the championship. He's a quality player. Needs to work on a few things but he has real quality.

He's a quality player in theory. Hasn't really done it anywhere. That's not to say he won't but calling him a quality Championship player is a stretch!

His chance has gone. He’s not Championship level. League One is his best bet but even then I’ll doubt he’ll be that influential. He’ll fall away like Teddy Bishop. It’s been evident for three seasons now.

The glee that some posters display when seeing former players(particularly those who did nothing wrong beyond not live up to expectations/hopes) fall on hard times is very very weird.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Had a bad start to his career here with the big injury and then endless incompetence and turmoil under Hurst, Lambert and Cook and then made some arguably ill-advised moves.

I suspect that had he come through under McKenna we'd have seen a much better player than he's so far turning out to be, sadly.

Absolutely don't get it why fans have this attitude that once a player leaves they are dead to them.

I wished Andre had of made it, that injury really derailed his career sadly. I wish him well, so fingers crossed he gets back on track and finds a good club

No doubt, but right now, quality Championship player isn't based on much.

No doubt he could be if with the right circumstances/manager.

People have been saying this for a while now, which in reality is just an excuse. Cifuentes is a good manager who let him go. Why would a good manager want him is probably the more apt way to look at it?

He’s not Championship quality. Three seasons have proven that.
