It's not KMs fault of course

But he really must be pssed off with it

Why do you continuously insist on trying to project that KM is p*ssed off?

Bit extreme. Things can change, especially in pre-season.

Maybe the players have been pushed harder in the training?

Was it really ever going to be 2 senior sides in two games in two days!? Doubt it.

They could’ve easily mixed them up, like they did last year v Cambridge and Stevenage but I reckon they want the main squad to be together and to get as many minutes as poss in one game.

I’m fairly certain that we’d have hoped to have >22 senior players for the friendly so could have named 2 starting XIs with kids on the bench like we did last year at Stevenage and Cambridge

Not projecting anything. Just discussing the latest story.

Any manager would be pssed off to have planned a pre season schedule to then make changes to the first 2 games and then cancel 1 of them due to not having enough players. If he wasn't pssed off he wouldn't be human.

Almost like pre-season games are for the benefit of the teams and what is required. Pre season games often have late changes.

I personally don’t get the clamour to see a pre-season friendly, they’ve never appealed to me. Whether or not I was going if the club feel the benefit for them is to play the U21s then that’s all that matters.

I guess it might just about be 'all that matters' IF Borussia M and any of their fans who have bought tickets are ok with it, _ which for all i know they may be. But if Nice suddenly announce they've decided to send a bunch of kids, I guess some people will feel a bit put out.

On a lighter note, saw a town fan on Twitter earlier moaning that the envelopes they send out the season tickets in no longer feature any kind of ITFC design and are just a plain white envelope.

I don’t think she was kidding, either. #neverhappy

Friendlies don't matter, and the whole point is to get the team ready for the start of the season.
Having said that, the club are marketing this as product to people who pay good money for it, so there should be a gesture of good will. Maybe pay for a pint or whatever for any Ipswich fans attending the match and offer a refund to anyone who paid on Town TV.

Most fans will enjoy seeing some of the players who will potentially be coming through to the first team. It was never going to be a fluid and focused match anyway, so I would say those who are going in person should just go with the flow and not let it ruin their adventure. It would be a nice touch if some of the first team went to sign some autographs or whatever.

Think we adapting and adjusting to circumstances professionally. Couple of transfers light and quite a few niggles and injuries. Tweak and adjust to manage injuries etc. we're a very professional outfit these days. Not a major panic. Not ideal either. We sign two players next week and the panic goes away.

We'd have wanted 20 senior outfield players to get the minutes required throughout pre season and are going to end up having 10-12 doing so - feels like we go in undercooked.

The 5-6 injuries are the issue rather than lack of signings currently, but both are compounding on us at the moment

Kieran said that was the case after the game last week. Initially I think he planned to still do that with Ayinde, F Barbrook etc covering but think there may be others with issues, although Hutchinson and Tuanzebe are back.

Most definitely.... on 21:17 - Aug 1 by LankHenners

Can't imagine Mönchengladbach are particularly chuffed about our decision either.

Suspect that, given the lack of movement on incoming transfers in the last couple of weeks and injuries to various players, we've realised we need to stick a 'proper' XI out there for a bit of practice and didn't want to leave it until the Nice match.

Not ideal.

Reading some of the comments online from their fans, no they are not. To be honest, if Nice rock up and play their youths with no notice I doubt we won't be either.

Not saying it will, but seeing we've messed around with the format of all of our games I wonder if clubs will think twice before agreeing to play us next season.

Yeah just seen some of their comments - understandable really, we'd be annoyed if a team did this to us.

I hope for their sake we made them aware of our plans early enough to give them a chance to pull out and try to arrange another 'proper' friendly if they wanted, would be a bit crap if we dropped this on their heads yesterday.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
