Not technically speaking by the law as if the game, but tactically in order to be bedded in and settled with the group for a game of that magnitude?
Unless it’s a big big signing, I’d imagine anyone signed after this weekend would be on the bench for that game rather than starting, especially given there’s only one friendly to go. KM isn’t a huge gambler and I think he’d rather go with someone who knows the system inside out, over someone perhaps with more ability but less familiar with what is expected.
Does he have much precedent for throwing signings straight in? Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see another behind closed doors friendly or two be played once more players are in.

I don't think we will be considering any of our matches a free hit this season given what is at stake. Sneak a point or more against City or Liverpool and it could be a defining factor come season's end - arguably no better time to play both as well. |
I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll do better than expected against a Liverpool team that will still be bedding in a new style of play.
I'll admit I'm dreading Man City but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be written off as somehow not mattering. |  |

Free hit is definitely a loser’s mentality. We might well lose 2-0 to Man City but the team has to go into that game thinking that they can win. It’s those unexpected points which makes a lot of difference in the PL. And even if we do lose, saying ‘free hit’ makes accepting defeat easier which it shouldn’t. |  | | |

Depends on the position really.
If we sign a big upgrade in centre midfield they're likely to go straight into the team even if we leave it very late.
We're short at left forward, so we'd likely go a bit later if we need to there as well (although Hutchinson and Chaplin as twin tens is something we've tried before). |  |

I'd like to think at the middle of next week at the latest if they are going to start. However, i'm not averse to starting with what we have at the moment and bringing on some yet to be signings as necessary, just to blood them them into the team. |  |
