Djurgarden vs Gothenburg 21:25 - Aug 4 with 2220 viewsvictorysquad

Went to this game today and have to say was very impressed with the atmosphere.

IFK pretty much did our coach welcome on steroids when their team came out and sung loudly for 90 mins non stop

The football quality was not there though, more like Scottish prem league standard, very physical

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?

I'm glad you got to experience some Swedish football!! Although there's only one team in Sweden to watch for atmosphere.. Hammarby!!!!

I have had a season ticket in the "klack" for 10 years. Constantly selling out every game in a league that is utter dog logs!

The tifos are massive and more impressive week after week. Flares, smokebombs, flags, bog roll.

I guess they need the entertainment to get through the football. What I love most about their chants is that nothing is about individuals. Everything is aimed at getting behind the team. A collective effort!! I'd love to invite Blue Action for a game to get some inspiration on Tifos and crowd chanting choreography.

If anyone ever wants tickets and a trip to Stockholm, DM me!! Hammarby v Djurgården at the end of October!!!

My Swedish team is Brommapojkarna! By virtue of the fact my GF grew up in Bromma. Tough hand I've been dealt...

THIS IS DEMOC-RRRRRRR-ACY MANIFEST!

Ah, that’s what the horsey woman did once she was banned from the Olympics. I did wonder.

I seem to recall being told Djurgarden means something along the lines of 'animal farm' in Swedish.

Corr, i'll hold you to that..!

From what I gather the Swedish FA learnt quickly that they'd never be able to compete with the big European leagues financially so decided to concentrate on the 'spectacle' to get bums on seats. The ultras are well facilitated over there - and look at the results...

We're light years away from that. In complete contrast to Sweden, this country is determined to suppress its atmosphere generating fans as much as possible. The enlightened approach at Crystal Palace is very much an outlier. I got told off for utilising a megaphone at the Fortuna game, for crying out loud (literally, har har)...
