These fckers are doing everything they can to start a race war. I'm starting to come round to the view that they're terrorists. I thought it would all cool off after the weekend but they seem intent on pushing.

Trouble in Birmingham tonight.... on 11:45 - Aug 6 by DJR | A woman from Middlesbrough has spoken about the ‘traumatic’ experience of having her family’s home attacked in the far-right riots that reached her area over the weekend. A woman called Anika told BBC Radio 4 about the rioting in her area, which left damage to their property. “We closed all the blinds and curtains, windows, whatever could lock. Go upstairs obviously, because it’s not safe to be downstairs.” She said people tried to get into their home, smashing the door’s window. “They were swearing racial slurs and then jumping on top of the [car] windscreen, the roof of it, breaking the side mirror windows – the car had to be a write-off.” She added that her mother, a carer, had not been able to go to the child she cares for due to the riot and damage to the vehicle. Anika described the attack as “really scary”. “It’s just been like a traumatic experience, like we’ve never experienced it our life.” [Post edited 6 Aug 2024 11:46]

I honestly feel so embarrassed and ashamed that people don't feel safe in this country. I always thought of the UK as relatively welcoming. We're a wealthy country with a large economy, and by and large different cultures and races have lived side by side in relative harmony which is always something I've been proud of and grateful for. It saddens me so much to see the embodiment of the far right fringe in recent years, c**ts like Farage, Robinson and right wing media have a lot to answer for, they really do. I know its still a tiny minority of people who have such rabid racist views, but its one that's very vocal and gets a lot of attention. Its so embarrassing how the UK is being painted outwardly and tars a lot of normal folk with a horrible brush.

Trouble in Birmingham tonight.... on 11:48 - Aug 6 by textbackup | Are you ok mate? Confused, and tense. You don’t seem able to read or understand what is written infront of your eyes. |
Time to step back a bit then. I do not take kindly to being called a drip though. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I’m sure you’ll get over it, you called me a far right apologist… I’m 100% sure I know what one is worse to be called. But don’t worry, I laughed that off, so you won’t need to say sorry.

I actually think it is as much that some people communicate very unclearly and sometimes that even appears deliberate too.

Say sorry? I can read between the lines mate. You are saying that people who overstep the line to defend their communities are as bad as people who attack houses and hotels that have children inside, attempt to pull non white people from cars in order to give them a good kicking, attack the police, their horses, dogs and set fire to their vehicles, desecrate not only Muslim but Christian graves and proudly don SS rune and swastika tattoos. I am not in bed with Muslim extremists but you are a far right apologist no different than Trump is/was when he said there "Were good people, on both sides." when Neo-Nazis committed murder and general mayhem during The Unite the Right rally in Charlottesvile. You try to hide you true intentions but your dog whistling is no more convincing then Farage's. [Post edited 7 Aug 2024 3:42]

Trouble in Birmingham tonight.... on 10:25 - Aug 6 by giant_stow | Looks like Walthamstow is getting a turn tomorrow. If the far right turn up here, it could turn into a full on street battle. Huge debates on the Local Facebook group about the merits of peaceful counter protests. Edit: to add more detail someone has put together a list of 60 asylum processing centres around the country, one of which is here. To me, that list is pure incitement. [Post edited 6 Aug 2024 10:30]

Great to see 5,000 out on the streets of Walthamstow to oppose the far right.
