Came on after 52 and a goal, MOTM and Wycombe fans absolutely loving him. Already tagged the Suffolk Messi and one fan suggesting the best player they have had since Eze.
I just had a WhatsApp from a friend at the game and they said Cam was brilliant, for his first game. He said he was a bit surprised by his build, given some of the comments he has seen. He was expecting a thinly built kid who would be bounced easily off the ball, nothing of the sort

Kieron Dyer rated him very highly and there is very good reason he is still on our books. I would not be at all surprised for him to end up in our first team in the Premier League one day.

Apparently Bloomfield has been trying to sign him on loan across the last four transfer windows, going back to his time at Colchester. He must be delighted to finally get him.

Wycombe were very keen in January, as we couldn’t get in left back cover the deal Didnt happen.

Wycombe fan here - an absolutely sensational debut! We were turgid before he came on, and the game literally turned on a swivel from night to day after he touched the ball for the first time and we looked dynamic and positive.
We have a history of developing top loanees well - Potts from West Ham last season won our POTS and of course we gave Eze his league debut too. Hopefully we can benefit you while also kicking on ourselves.
I am sure a lot of you know the Ipswich connections we have, with our manager Matt Bloomfield being a lifelong Ipswich fan and academy graduate, making a single Ipswich appearance before his 558 games for us (hence 'Mr. Wycombe') and having coached your youth while still playing for us. Our head of recruitment was also taken from Ipswich, so hopefully the connections stay strong.
All the best for this season - any neutral fan with a soul was delighted that you went up, and despite the two defeats, the level of opposition and the way you played overall suggests you are going to make a serious fist of it. It is brilliant to see Ipswich in the top flight. Maybe because I got into football around Panini 1986 with John Wark's moustache as a star and it just seems like you belong, but either way, it brings the world back into balance. Good luckl

What position did he come on into as sub, looked like he cut in off the right side, cut back to left to score? Not necessarily where we might expect but he might have popped up there from anywhere…

Thanks for this. I'm sure you may have popped on here for some Intel on here. He's really highly rated by us fans and the manager. I think the connections you mentioned are why he is with you as he could. Certainly play championship. Just needs a full season under his belt. He's not the biggest but he makes up for it with his desire and tenacity. Hope he lights it up for you.

I know Wycombe released KVY in the summer, and think he's still without a club. What is your feeling about his future? Is he just not a L1-standard player any more? Or is the feeling that he's got an injury that is really never going to go away so nobody's likely to give him a contract, even in L2?

Never realised he had such a good right foot. Lovely strike with his right for the first goal and also a powerful long-range effort with his right. I hope he's playing as a 10 or in a advanced role. He can play deep but don't think he has the physicality for it yet. Think L1 in a 10 role would suit him so he can get plenty of game time and a few goals.

Bloomfield brought him on as a 10, which he stated after the game is further forward than he would usually plan to use him, but it worked out well! It would not surprise me if he stays there after that performance, as it is a position of need too.

I think it's all down to the injuries, unfortunately. He was brought in to be the starting LB / LWB last season, but only made 12 starts owing to the various knocks and injuries, so he never really generated any momentum. We knew going into the season that he was injury-prone, and sadly it turned out that way with us too. We let him continue training with us while he looked for a club, but it is going to be tough for him. Awful, as he seems a lovely lad and very talented, if he could just stay healthy!

As you say, it's a shame. He was pretty much ever-present at Colchester, and I think it was just one bad tackle playing for Town that crocked him. And as you say, by all accounts the nicest bloke you could ever wish to meet. I'm sure we all wish him well. (Somehow it brings it even more sharply into focus when you know the wages the Premier League players are on, and the small margins of luck and talent. If he'd been fully fit when the Town surge started, who's to say he wouldn't have still been along for the ride?

Thanks. Yeah because he’s a young player we have seen him in a few roles; behind strikers, LWB, Cmf. I asked because we are not entirely sure where his long term primary position is! He was good in cameo roles behind a striker, eye for pass and the odd goal. Lat season feeling was he was backing up LWB buts he’s not had a lot of game time in that defensive position. Great engine though, highly thought of, he needs games/minutes wherever he can be most useful at this stage.
