Man City Away 01:01 - Aug 25 with 2643 views | ITFC_RDM | (Caveat, I was in the home end) This was the least I’ve enjoyed a game of football involving my beloved Ipswich Town in a long time. I hated the atmosphere (or lack of) it didn’t even feel like being at the football. Just a tourist attraction. It’s never going to be enjoyable watching your team get 4-1, but that almost didn’t even come into it for me. The City fans were embarrassing, the officials were embarrassing and there was almost nothing to enjoy. The gulf in class is ridiculous. I loved seeing us go one up and I thought Delap and Hutchinson looked very much the part… other than that, I’d have much rather be watching us at almost any championship ground.
Man City Away on 01:51 - Aug 25 with 2497 views | Blaggers12 | It is what it is though. We want the club to be successful, see the world's best players, and compete at the highest level. Last year, you'd struggle to find wider coverage of Town games, now we are everywhere and it's almost an overdose of content. There's a beauty of the Championship I miss, but for now we need to maintain the atmosphere at home games and do our best to establish ourselves in this league. I'm more saddened at the end of the line for some of those players who have been on that journey with us. Once the international break is done, you'll see McK's proper Ipswich side, most likely without Chaplin, Harness, Woolfenden, Burgess, Luongo...the romance of modern football is now all about the reality of being in this league. We haven't spent £80m for Harness to get a regular game. 😞

I suppose to the city fans it was only ipswich they were playing, pretty routine game to them. The game had been long since won so they probably wanted to beat the crowds out

Red umbrella told them they were late for their Old Trafford tour slot.

On your last point, I thought it was a touch of class McKenna brining Edmundson on at the end. He’s clearly going to be leaving over the next 2 weeks, but he’s now been a premier league footballer & played against the best team ever at the level.

We are McKennas Ipswich. Much as I love the team that got us up, we'd soon be cross watching them get rolled over. Morsey and Leif will carry the torch, and Hirst and Burns and Broadhead will feature. If you gave yourself £100m after promotion you'd have gone for many of the same players brought in. We are Premier League. The money washes out some of the purity of football. I think we will keep our heart.

Man City Away on 09:53 - Aug 25 with 1504 views | dirtyboy | I too was in home end, had geared myself up mentally to ensure I enjoyed the game for what it was, and managed to do that despite the score. When we started singing I was so proud of our fans, really is as mentioned, more of a tourist attraction to many (clueless Americans sat behind us) lucky enough to sit next to a Newcastle and Bradford fan though. Ground and set up is incredible, designed fully to rise attendee though lol City are a joy to watch (although less so where it’s your own team) that said, I thought we did a lot of good things and weren’t undone by being rubbish, just individual errors, which I can live with firm now, occasion felt like it got to a couple. Szmodics is a player, Hutch looks great, Greaves top dollar and still felt Morsy is stepping up, remember who we played…. Enough to be positive about. Oh and fair play to the 2,000 (ish) Man City fans who did make an effort, must feel annoyed with what is happening around them, but the entertainment is definitely on the pitch as a distraction. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Man City Away on 10:01 - Aug 25 with 1450 views | trncbluearmy | Man city fans used to be amongst the most loyal and loudest in the country now all silverware, no soul Must not let that happen to ITFC They are the best club team in the world, won everything, but I would rather be us then them.
Man City Away on 10:06 - Aug 25 with 1419 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | The beauty of the Championship is it’s so competitive- anyone can beat anyone. Whilst people bemoaned the dominance of the parachute clubs, 2 of the 3 relegated clubs went up, one of them had to do it via playoffs. Champions Leicester were beaten an incredible 11 times! It’s a great league. Unfortunately PL is the only game in town if you want to be ambitious, but I certainly have sympathy with the view it’s more fun to be a top championship team than a bottom 6 PL team. That said KM has a long term plan - he’s brought in young players who can improve and grow. We just need to give it time to bed in new players and get our system as fluent as it was the last 2 years. I also feel for those long term City supporters, and pretty much all the London clubs who have followed them for years only to be priced out, or replaced by wealthy Chinese tourists. We don’t want English football turning into passive, popcorn munching, cringiness like the American sports.
Man City Away on 10:14 - Aug 25 with 1364 views | norfsufblue | Noticed they moan about acoustics a lit... you have to bear in mind this is really a tiered converted athletics stadium!... not good for singing etc. Also I don't know what the home concourse are like as ours was very bland and crowded, but I ass they must be amazing as they were very keen to get down there*! *never really understood the desire to get beer over watching the game you've paid to watch? That's for before and after I believe but each to his/ her own
