Saturday is a real acid test of where we are imo. Our annual toe dip in the Carabao cup is a predictable as it is frustrating. |  |

You could say it did make a difference. Coventry progressed, were knackered and down to the bare bones because of their run in the FA cup run, which also delayed our game with them to a point when we had players back from injury. Not being in the cups can have advantages too. |  | | |

no we couldnt, the physical demand on players per game is much higher in Prem matches than Championship or League 1.
in fact McKenna quoted a stat well over a year ago I wish Id kept as I dont remember it precisely, but it was about the amount of time the ball stays in play with the step up between leagues and what players workload per game is expected from it.

As a collective we were on a high last year. Maidstone was a blemish but the overall picture for the season still looked good. This year is going to be a challenge. Expected wins are few and far between, so building that momentum when offered the opportunity would be beneficial. Unfortunately, we failed to do so tonight. | |

We will have signed 12-13 players by the time the window shuts and they need game time. I'm not talking about the regulars. I'm not going over the top with this defeat, it is what it is now and we deal with it. McKenna alluded to the usefulness of the cups in his presser. He'll be fuming inside but manage himself and the team properly externally as always.
Disappointing result. Will cost players not regularly getting minutes important game time. That will not help us for the guys who need to come on and Impact etc. It's small margins.
