This may be controversial, and to be clear I think he is one of the most exciting players I have seen in a Town shirt in my 40+ years of watching them, but I am worried he is developing a tendency to go down in and around the box a little too easily, and as such may develop a reputation for it.

There was an example last night where without a doubt there was a slight contact with the defender, but rthe way he went down and then appealed to the ref did not sit well with me.

Before anyone shoots me down - I know that the modern game has changed into less of a contact sport and that VAR adds another dimension - but it is one of those things I have noticed with Hutchinson towards the end of last season and the start of this - and he is not getting those decisions from the refs.

He has so much ability and presents such a threat - I really don't want him getting that reputation, and therefore having the really genuine fouls ignored as a result.

I wait to be shot down in flames :-)

Last night was the first I’d noticed it, was a shame he went down so easily, ref made the right call for sure.

It has been for a long time to boot. I totally agree with you though, I find it really annoying, whoever does it.

Difficult to imagine being his size and speed though. Any slight touch and it's going to knock him off balance. It wasn't a penalty but it wasn't a dive.

As for appealing to the ref, all players do that.

Truly impaired.

You can't judge the motion and physics stuff based on your experience ;)

I clearly remember seeing him do it in his competitive debut for us and moaning about it.

Not seen him do it since really until last night, so hopefully was just a rare 'doing all he can' to win a game when VAR not to catch him out. Not something I like at all.

He needs to work on his penalties too. That was awful (and Taylor’s). Don’t feck about with it.

He may have genuinely lost his balance, hard to tell.

When it comes to appealing for the decision, well as I think we were reminded on Saturday when Davis went down, if you don't ask, you wont get.

The coaching staff had, last season, been encouraging him to stop trying to stay on his feet. He had pretty much addressed that by the end of the season.

Lots of players develop a reputation among fans for going over too easily. Those same players seem to get a lot of penalties.

See Dewsbury-Hall for Leicester last year and the gravity prone lard-arse at Nodge a few years back

Agreed. I've said before that if you can't beat them join them. There was no doubt in my mind that Savinho played for the pen against us last weekend and it worked.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of it but trying to be the good guys will not get us anywhere.

You need to become more one eyed. Cheating is fine when it’s our players always has been.

Gates and Magilton were two who sprained by to mind who must have practiced diving
