Btw Davis on 19:15 - Aug 31 with 2881 views | BarcaBlue | I've always thought Traore is a limited player for the obvious pace and strength he possesses. Not a lot of skill on show and his decision making isn't great either. There's a good reason he was allowed to leave Barça at a young age, didn't make the grade for the national side and never really shone for Wolves either.

He ripped us apart regularly in the first half. On his day, absolutely unplayable. I wouldn't say Davis did particularly well at defending him, not sure he won a single 1v1. In the second half, we had more of the ball, and Davis was a lot higher, pushing them back and limiting their threat more than us working out how to deal with him.

I don't think he ripped us apart but I think a lot of teams will try to exploit our left with Davis often playing high. Traore saw a lot of the ball particularly in the first half as you say but he really wasn't that threatening on the wing.

I think he was a victim of playing as essentially a winger so if he was out of position for a goal it was "Terrible from Leif" when really it was just a system thing. As you say, he has it in his locker, he is a great athlete, deceptively strong and good in the air. Needs to be careful dangling a leg in sometimes, but he will continue to improve. Sarah, Savio and Traore is not a nice start.

Not many defenders do won 1 v 1 with traore. What you do is manage him to areas which allow either others to help mop up or in areas where he's least trouble. This I felt Davis did well at. Not only that but somehow Davis managed to not only get high up the pitch but can't remember an occasion where Fulham were able to put traore in behind Davis.. that's incredible tbh and again not something many have achieved with him.

I think you are overstating Traore's ability. It was good we were able to deal with him of course but in no way incredible. Traore offers little more than incredible speed. I think Fulham picked him up for free as he just didn't offer enough at Villa or Wolves. For a forward player his goal count is really low and assists unremarkable.

I don't think I have tbf. I find him a bit thick. I've said this about him couple weeks ago can't remember who he was playing against. But he's fast and built like a house. He bulldozes past players hence I don't feel many win 1 v 1s with him. His end product is ropey hence you manage the areas he gets into as you minimise the damage this way.

It's pace, power and agility. It's an absolute nightmare to deal with. His end product may not be good, if it was we'd be talking about an incredible footballer, it doesn't mean he isn't incredibly difficult to deal with and he will cause all sorts of problems for defenders. I really do think he ran us ragged for the first half, certainly their main threat by some distance. If you consider Ogbene is supposedly quicker than Traore, and the output we saw from both players, Traore was a lot more dangerous and effective.

It's not incredible that we dealt with him today though or something Premier League defences have been doing for the last few seasons. Like I say, good that we did but at this level he's a very limited player and probably someone that managers find a simple way to combat. I just had a quick check, he has 16 Premier League goals since debuting in 2015. It's no surprise we dealt with him today as it seems every other team has done similar. That's why I said you were overstating things by calling it incredible and not many teams have achieved it.

The incredible part was more of how davis and the way we use him was able to do all of his attacking play whilst ensuring he was in position to not allow easy balls over the top for traore. I don't think that work output should be under valued. I also agree tho he's not a goal scorer. And his assist stats aren't great either but he's what I call an involver.

Hmmm now who’s a manger who might be able to turn incredible physical attributes into a more refined player with some end product..?
| Not a Mummy. Don't have short arms. |

Btw Davis on 22:49 - Aug 31 with 1744 views | itfctilidie | Was great going forward but didnt think he got near Traore when defending him. Got skinned very early on very easily. Was ball watching for their goal, in the replays it was very apparent. Again, going forward he was excellent and offered a constant attacking threat and did some really good things...in Fulhams half of the pitch

My Fulham supporting eldest son said “it says a lot about our performance when Traoré is our most dangerous player”. They don’t really rate him there. More amusing was their assessment of: 1. ESR - “we paid 30m for that?” 2. 7.50 for a pint in Ipswich - that’s SW London prices!
