15.00ko matches on Sky? 19:47 - Sep 4 with 2664 views | MattinLondon | According to this site, Sky will be broadcasting 15:00ko matches for L1 and L2 matches. Click on 7th Sept tab and it states that those games will be on Sky+. Am I misreading it or is this now allowed in the EFL? https://www.live-footballontv.com/#2024Sep07
15.00ko matches on Sky? on 19:53 - Sep 4 with 2591 views | Pinewoodblue | You could say, if you just wanted to legitimately watch Town games on TV, that we were promoted at the wrong time. The chances are that the all 72 EFL teams will be televised more than Town this season.

What with all of our home matches being sold-out I don’t understand why our matches can’t be broadcast live to the domestic audience.

Spot on. In the US, once the stadium reaches a certain number of sales, the TV blackout is lifted, and you can watch the games on your local station.

The argument (and I have some sympathy with it) is that in the Uk there are a string of other matches that fans can go to locally. We have Ipswich Wanderers, Needham Market, Lowestoft, Colchester etc etc. If you go to a non league game you will see lots of hats and scarves of local league teams. That doesn’t really apply in the States. Changing the rules would definitely have an effect lower down the ladder.

That's a good and interesting point, in the US they are competing with other sports rather than games further down the ladder. I am pretty sure (somebody with more knowledge would know as I only follow the NFL in the US) that the other sports play at different times/days anyway so they don't have that problem.

That’s an interesting point, one I failed to take into account. Thanks for that. I do think that it’ll be worthwhile for clubs who regularly sell-out, or come close to it, to trial broadcasting 1500 home matches to see whether there is a knockdown effect.

Bit odd though? Surely it would be better not to televise them and see if Prem and Championship fans could be enticed to a league two ground?

For American football at least, Friday is high school (hence the term Friday night lights), Saturday is college and Sunday is NFL. Towards the end of the year you might get some games on a Friday or Saturday but only once everything else is finished.

Spot on. It feels as though the 3pm ban will eventually be lifted and its not something I am looking forward to. It will be an absolute killer for a lot of non-league clubs who rely on local people to come and watch when alternatives aren't available.
