He had no right to score from there! 22:28 - Sep 29 with 2303 viewsWicklowBlue

Watched this multiple times after the game....what a goal from Delap!!

Picks up the ball on the left after being careful to keep onside. After that Delap goes into beast mode and what a finish, dropped the shoulder left the defender for dead and what a finish. Pure class!

Special mention for Taylors clipped ball out to Hutch.

I’m of an age where I see someone in a Town shirt do that and I think “we did well to get him on loan. Shame he’s got to go back at the end of the month”

Now we have Hirst back fit, (up to) £2Om for Delap on a 5 year contract, looks like excellent business by McKenna and Ashton again.

He's got so much about him, it's like we've bought two players in one. He can hold the ball up but run at people too. Bloke's a beast.

While it's on record we were trying to sign another 9. Today we just saw what Delap can do out wide and cutting in.

Front to back, it was one heck of a goal. Boom! He really sent the defender packing. Great first time ball from Omari too. The more the team plays together the more they’ll be able to play quick passing like that

For a 21 year old to have that much composure in a pressurised situation in front of goal in the EPL is remarkable.

It’s not just his physical skills, it’s his mental strength. His body language was very noticeable striding onto the pitch at the start - fast, muscular walk; total determination and concentration written all over his face “I’m going to score today”. Top man.

Think the defender didn't realise he favours his left .

Fantastic forward play. Has the intelligence to drift out to the left knowing Konsa had vacated the space, timed his run perfectly to stay onside and then has the ability to leave an experienced centre half on his arse and finish expertly past one of the best keepers in the world. Sublime forward play.

When you consider the profiles of some of our players its a really exciting time. Delap, Hutchinson, Clarke, Davis, Greaves. 5 young players right there who we own outright and can keep improving, all with the potential to become established Premier league players IMO. Not to mention Phillips, who while not particularly young, can be a massive player for us this season if he gets back to anything close to his form of 2 years ago. O'Shea, Muric, Morsy etc look at home too.

The question for me is the extent to which Cajuste, Hirst, Szmodics, Burns, Ogbene can contribute and to what level. They're arguably in a tier slightly below the others, but will be vital over the course of the season.

I can see him scoring several individual goals like that this season. He has a slightly ungainly but powerful running style and is deceptively quick. Must be a nightmare to defend against. The other take from that clip is how Hutchinson, after making the pass, also burst a lung to get into the box in case Delap squared it.

He's got a touch of the Peter Crouch(looks big and awkward, surprisingly good with the ball) about him, only with more obvious physical presence.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

First goal was Kane, second was Bale. Wish we could clone him.
