I think the other half of the stand we’re in is a neutral zone anyway, often seen plenty of away fans cheering in that bit.

I was told by the club that I should be ok to wait until Tuesday (but no guarantees)

The whole ticket buying process needs an overhaul, not just got itfc but in general. It is so old the current ways of purchasing tickets.

I mean, why does everybody need to jump onto a queue every 4 days, set alarms, miss work meetings etc. it makes no sense. You just need to indicate your intent to go to certain games, where you prefer to sit, and the system should do the rest.

It should ask "if demand exceeds supply, would you prefer to buy just 1? or just 2?'

There should be 100% transparency on how many people are in each category, how many are going to corporate / players families etc..

you should be able to see demand for each game, see how many people actually showed up to each away game, a proper 21st century system.

Completely unworkable.

Whatever system is used, demand will outstrip supply sometimes.

At the moment it does for us (but there were many years when it didn't), so there will always be people who miss out.

Same boat, its very annoying this process. I would rather they just tell us the numbers in each category

They change - I went up into 30 after wham
Just in time for this one!
B mouth will be harder as more people will get into the top bracket!

They'll have a 35+ bracket before 30+ so I think we are where we are. If you currently have 25+, you have a decent chance of a ticket for most away matches

Hadn’t realised that, they state 1,900 for away fans on their website.

So 1,900 minus 1,725 = Fabio's had 175 then?

I emailed the club back in August about the transparency pf numbers, more specificallytegarding home tickets, but same with the ballot chances (Arsenal report the % chance of success).

I understand why they might not want to report the number of memberships, or the number in each bracket, however there is a lot of re-engineering going on. Their emails announce the number of tickets which we are allocated, but the number going on sale are lower. There's no need to hide this.

I doubt anything will change this season. I expect there will be "tweaks" next season as there will be a lot of people have paid for membership without seeing any benefits (e.g. season ticket holders on 14 or less points). Plus next year we'll have close to 3k in the highest bracket, and the rest on nothing. So if you thought this year was a closed shop...(albeit demand may drop for season 2)

There's another scenario whereby if we ended back in the Championship, everyone in the highest bracket may not qualify for a ticket (3k vs 2k allocation - I think Norwich was 1.8k)

If there's a game where the allocation exceeds the current top bracket, they will just introduce a higher bracket.

Maybe for this season, but next season we'll start with 3k in 30+ (assuming the same people are going to every game this season). There will be no higher bracket.

And for home tickets this year there has been little regard for historical attendance, so I wouldn't bet on it.

Maximising selling memberships will dictate in the future. I expect a scheme to guarantee at least one away ticket and one home ticket (non-st) perhaps on a preferential basis (so no guarantees of 1st selection)

Why should people miss work meetings?

Hold on ffs… it’s called a sacrifice, if you want to attend something you queue to get the tickets, if higher priority events (like your job, that pays the bills) dictates that you can’t be online to purchase, then tough, that’s life. Surely?!

Yeah but they won’t all be on 32 points for example. They’ll set a 45+ 40+ 35+ 30+ etc…

I thinking back to the away match passport system, where you would get a ticket and did not need to remember to sign in and buy each week.

You are saying it is necessary to queue, I disagree. My point is, if I qualify why do I have to be online at 10am? The system could be better.

Next year the max points anyone will be able to have will be about 30 though surely? 19 away games, plus cups (1 so far), and then the 5+5 points for having membership both years

So that poster is right, if most of the tickets are being bought by the same people then everyone will have largely the same number of points next year

For away games you don’t have to be online at 10am if you’re in the top two brackets (except Brentford of course) you have until 6am the next day to get a ticket, that’s 20 hours.

I’m not sure why you’re getting so much push-back on this. It’s essentially the system that is already used for Euros/World Cup tickets. Register your interest by a certain date and authorise a payment to be taken. If you get allocated a ticket, happy days. If you don’t, at least it wasn’t because you weren’t able to be on the website at an arbitrary time when it sold out.

There is software available that could deal with this easily, as well as requests on seating preferences.

Blimey some brutal messaging around these threads now.

I think the whole online purchase thing has really created the issue.

I have posted this elsewhere.

I have never had an ST owing to geography and working life....
However,
In 1991 no issues home or away
In 2000 01 no issues home or away

Yes despite being a life long fan I am a casual supporter so I understand many others are more deserving. I would suggest though there are many who have benefited from jumping on the McKenna bus (It was obvious once GM came in where this was all going) and not being regulars in the preceding 20 years. It is what it is and I hope I get to see at least one home game this season. I am targeting the Leicester game next. Maybe slightly less interest for that one!!

This is extending to concerts as well. I rocked up at Wembley Stadium in the late 80's and and on the door for Pink Floyd. Wouldn't even get a £300 ticket nowadays.
Of late David Gilmour, Oasis , Iron Maiden have all sold out whilst I am sat in a queue.

Not sure why this has happened now. I am told there is a cost of living crisis. It wouldn't surprise me if Football clubs start to restrict ST's and equate the visit if Erling Haaland to to a show by Taylor Swift or even our very own Ed Sherran...........£300 please!!!

The problem with this is that it also will create a requirement for protection (i.e. in normal circumstances I as a member might not choose to go to a game like Brighton away next year having done it this season, but in this world it becomes almost mandatory to do them all to guarantee the ones you want).

It's imperfect, I don't know an alternative that is better and from a sales perspective it's probably not too urgent for the club to rock the boat given that we sell out every game home and away as it stands.

Ah, yes - I forgot they wipe the previous season's total.

So at the start of next season, the most anyone could be on is low 30s, depending on what happens in the FA Cup.

Yes, not sure how to resolve this in the medium-term without a drop in interest but I'm fortunate that I've been able to go to a decent number of away games every season, but by no means close to all, so had enough points when the restrictions came in.

There have been plenty of other times when that wouldn't have been the case, indeed the only years I've not had a season ticket since 1992 were when I was at uni but I could get to away games in the North west easily enough then. Trying to get back after a break was hard enough in 2000, let alone now and the away games even more so.
