Bellingham starting up front..... on 19:58 - Oct 10 by blueasfook

I take back what I said. We're a fooking shambles at the back

Well we do have the worst defensive rb playing ( very good going forwards he is tho)

And a right back. Midfielder. Jack of all trades at left back.

No continuity and the cm set up in front doesn't help.

....as I said it'll probably work fine tonight.

But Carsley coming in just smacks of when Southgate got the job to me, no top level experience, an easy and cheap appointment and will ultimately fail when "sh1t gets real"....man.

I tell you what, I'm ABSOLUTELY against the idea of appointing a young, relatively unproven coach who's been around some of the biggest names in football for years but hasn't had a top job yet.

What's that going to do? Show a marked improvement on the past few decades even though the best it ever gets you is second place? Pffffft. Sounds like a loser mentality and I couldn't support ANY team that does that.

Yeah, that probably helps. Foden and Palmer aren’t too shabby - surely these attacking options should see off most teams. No ugly nasty b@stard with elbows like Shearer’s to be the battering ram though.

Yeah. Give delap 3 more years...

Well lots of England fans complained Southgate never played the creative players, so Carsley has decided to play them all in the team

He's also been working with England's best young players for the past four years.

Yeah I appreciate the u21 role of course. But with all the caretaker roles he's had if he had something about him he would've done more clubwise.

U21 role is great of course can't begrudge that and the euro win.

I dunno. Just find him to similar to Southgate and I think we need something different. The football for me is similar however tonight it's the same but without a striker.

We just don't select right

Bellingham and foden is one of not both. Let one of them be a KM like finisher of the game.
Rice needs to given licence to roam but needs a sitting cm
Left back needs a left back
We've now got to find a better gk. No way is pickford world class
We should always play a striker

Curse of criticism!

Nice goal that but defensively we've been all over the place for most of the game. Very lucky that Greece seems unable to stay onside.

Looks like Bellingham has saved our bacon, but even so, not a great performance tonight. Greece could well have won this 3 or 4 -0.

....you can't just shoehorn players into a formation and expect to get results.

There's been no discernable style to the play at all, they look totally devoid of any pattern and completely lost.

Carsley should be nowhere near managing an international football team that has aspirations to win a major tournament.

Was slightly pleased for Greece when that went in in a way - for all we've been crap they've been excellent and deserved the win.

I know the nature of international football means you have to compromise and sometimes players play slightly differently to where they play in club football but we seem to have an obsession with trying to shoehorn all the good/form players in at the expense of a more coherent structure.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Conceding they'd only tried the formation for 20 minutes yesterday is probably the thing that will do for him. On that basis he's been reckless and wasted an opportunity.
