How do they fit? Are they snug at an XL? Or do they give some leighway ?

Cheers

Depends whether you're an XL I guess :)

Snug. I had to go up a size. Last years xl is this years xxl which is just ever so slghtly loose.
Probably a half size smaller. So. When in doubt. Go up.

They're not the athletic cut of some previous shirts I can remember

Probably more authentic to the size they are stated as

Edit: Although the people above seem to be questioning that

That's my experience anyway

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Very much depends where you get them from i would think - and whether you plan on washing it

In an era when mugs buy three shirts I wonder when previous hideous designs become cool and retro

Funny tops the replicas.

Seem to give you loads of room until you get towards the bottom then it suddenly becomes a skin fit.

I got the away one. It looks brilliant in the flesh. Son got the link one which again looks good.
Wasn't a fan of the home one this time round so didn't bother with that one.

a niche perspective

Remember you can always grow into it...

I bought a large and it's definitely a little tighter than last year's large.

I said they were exactly the same size as the black shirt.

Someone said they weren't on here.

So i laid one on top of the other, and they were.

Mine as a large is a little too snug for me where previous shirts have been fine. I would say go a size up.

Are they snug at an XL? - Errr, yes if you are a 20 stone rugby player but no if you are an olympic cyclist. Some context may help

In all seriousness, go a size up if in doubt or you are on the cusp of a size, they are a little more fitted than previous seasons I have found. I am usually an XXL (not an olympic cyclist) and found that 3XL was the better fit for me.

Defo go up a size if you want any hint of bagginess.

Not as bad as the retro play-off line though which is essentially skin tight.
