Morsy & Cajuste 08:34 - Nov 11 with 2082 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | Our best pairing for me. I don't mind Phillips, I think he's been getting better recently after an average start, but he's no where near as comfortable on the left side than Cajuste is. For me moving forwards, I think Cajuste has to start with Morsy. Financially it is going to be one you swallow with Phillips, but we looked very good with Cajuste who kept a very good player in Kulusevski limited to what he could do on the ball.

Morsy & Cajuste on 08:38 - Nov 11 with 2008 views | Bellevue_Blue | I agree, I think Cajuste just has that edge. He's a little more controlled, plays simple balls well and keeps it well. Kalvin probably the opposite, loves a big tackle, plays right on the line and wants to play that defence splitting ball. Financially I also think it makes sense, if we stay up we're paying 10M for Jens. Lets have a proper look at him for a block of games.
Morsy & Cajuste on 08:44 - Nov 11 with 1955 views | BlueBoots | Cajuste looked a Rolls Royce of a player before he joined us, and on yesterday's showing is now adjusting to the tempo of the Prem. Few moments where he was swamped by the Tottenham midfield, but was composed and took time on the ball to pick out a good option. So glad we've got that clause to buy if we stay up - just need to make sure we do that to hold on to him, because he'll go for a much bigger fee if we don't.

I think as well with Cajuste, although he's right footed, he's comfortable with his left foot, something Phillips isn't as confident with using. Cajuste is quite similar stylistically to Luongo, so we've essentially upgraded on Luongo. It's very good recruitment, I just hope we see more of him now. Hopefully it's a 'once he's in, he won't drop out' situation from here on.

Morsy & Cajuste on 14:34 - Nov 11 with 1323 views | FrimleyBlue | Phillips and Cajuste will be the main duo imo. Phillips has started to show signs of his former self and morsy isn't getting any younger. We've seen the ill effect of a tired morsy. So keep him fresh. Swap them round.

Morsy looks like he's coping at this level. He's still playing with the calmness and composure needed.

If I know Kieran after 3 years, he will keep him in. I hope he does.

Morsy is in supreme shape, and I disagree with anyone saying he's bordering on too old. There are plenty of Premier League players at the same age or above, all operating at the top level easily. I thought his performance against Leicester was one of his best, if not his best ever for us, and to me he looked like a top Premier League player. If he hadn't lost the ball for the equaliser and we had gone on to win the match, people would have been effusive in their praise. He looks after the ball so well which is priceless at this level (I actually thought he dropped below his usual level yesterday). He also raises the levels of players around him. Don't underestimate his influence when he's on the pitch. His stats are also good. Long passes and duels he's right up there, in his first season in the top flight. Long may it continue. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Cajuste and Philips ought to be a good pairing but Morsy has to be picked on the basis of current form. A bit of rotation can help all three over the course of the season. One really encouraging aspect of Cajuste's game is that he seems to have a bit more ability to orchestrate an attack. The way he can break forward gives a bit more to the attack than Morsy or Philips.

Yeah I agree. Cajuste is very good at turning and driving with the ball to get us up the pitch quickly. Similar to Jack Taylor, but with more quality. If he could shoot like Taylor, what a player we'd have on our hands.

First goal yesterday a case in point – every opportunity to play a safe pass when he takes possession but instead backs himself to dart between two players, lay it off to Delap and continue his run. Completely transforms the scope and tempo of the move. Clearly has a really useful line-breaking quality that doesn't exist elsewhere in the squad; I agree though that the three should all see plenty of action between now and May. Morsy & Cajuste on 16:20 - Nov 11 with 907 views | franz_tyson | Not writing Phillips off yet, but with his reputation and weekly wage, he should be the first name on the teamsheet and our most important player. He's not. In fact, he'll be lucky to get ahead of Cajuste next game. So far, I'm under-whelmed by him even though he's had a few good games. He should be dictating games yet he looks a very run-of-tbe-mill player.
