Certainly wasn’t watching Hull or Coventry away last season as both nearly pushed me over the edge but for enjoyment was probably the Barnsley away in 2022/23 as that night we blew them away without too much stesss and basically sealed promotion.

Barnsley will be hard to top, with those five minutes at the end of the first half. It was the first time I've ever sung "now you're gonna believe us, the Town are going up" and ACTUALLY believing it.
Port Vale (H) stands out in the league one promotion race because of all the fantastic wins that season, we were always just a class above all our opponents and made it look easy but Port Vale was the only one with a setback. I have never felt more nervous watching a penalty than Broadhead’s in that game but he put the pressure behind him and put it away.
They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!
Have to say Barnsley too purely because we hadn’t proved we could handle really big games. They were 5 points away from us (if I recall correctly) it was away from home and the tension and jeopardy was there.
Southampton at home for obvious reasons and Cov away.
Hull away was a really good game also.

Honestly couldn't choose. Dammit, I may need to watch them all again to come up with an answer.
The trouble was, that each favourite was getting usurped by another game pretty damn quickly. The Barnsley game there coming hot off the heels of Peterborough, which in itself was game of the season material and doesn't get nearly as many mentions.
As for last season, Southampton will always be at the forefront of my mind, as will Hull away. Yeah, ok we didn't win but feck me, that was some game and atmosphere.
Hull game was the best game of football all season - proper game with both teams going all out for the win. Also left you with mixed emotions of knowing a point was good in that it kept things in our own hands but at the same time being annoyed because we should have won.

Bolton Away too.... on 22:13 - Nov 17 with 517 views
It feels like each game got pushed back in the memory as the next one was more pivotal, but Id also put Bolton in there too. It was the first of those big away games in the run-in that fans of other clubs thought were going to trip us up (Bolton, Barnsley, Derby, then later at Peterborough). And I think in truth, at that point in March, we werent quite sure how good the team was either. That fast break away from Burns and brilliant finish from Hirst set a tone for future goals and then when Bolton applied pressure, we stood up to them, saved a penalty and then went and got the second and saw the game out comfortably. Remember leaving the stadium thinking we had made a real statement that day and then we just kept making them after that. Bolton were unbeaten at home for months up to that point too and likely thought they had every chance of catching us up.
Those 4 away games were all against teams who had their own ambitions of promotion, whether automatic or play-offs. They were 'season defining' games and I think I'm right in saying we won all 4 without conceding a single goal?

Pretty sure Barnsley were on a 9 game winning run at home going into that game, a run that included comfortable wins against both Plymouth and Sheff Wed - and we simply blew them away.

It was my 7 year olds reaction at the time that helps keep it up high for me. I had a ticket but didn’t go because he couldn’t and he wanted to watch it with me. Jumping off the sofa shouting when Hirst scored especially.
