Match of the Day 2 23:28 - Nov 24 with 2904 views | Churchman | The punditry afterwards: They were only interested in Man Utd and their new manager. Just about every attack they had shown in detail. 343, 5321,606, 442, 244, systems Murphy whistling through his teeth you really got no sense or balance for me. A little on Delap, less on Hutchinson, who was excellent throughout, and I think you could sum up whistling uncle Fester and whoever that woman is as Ipswich are a load of cr@p carried by Delap and Omari. Maybe they’re right but if that’s the case, it doesn’t say a lot for lets roll around in agony United, despite detailed analysis of their best bits and the love in with their shiny new manager. Serves me right for watching it.

Match of the Day 2 on 23:36 - Nov 24 with 2772 views | TrumptonBlue | I thought it was fine. MotD's analysis of a game always tends to devote more time to one of the teams. I'm surprised people haven't realised this by now. Manchester United under a new manager seemed a reasonable candidate for the more detailed analysis today, They still found time to heap praise on Delap, though.

Match of the Day 2 on 23:43 - Nov 24 with 2688 views | Vic | I don't often disagree with you Churchy, but I've got to on this one. It was inevitable that they were going to shine the spotlight on United (one of the biggest clubs in the world) after the first game under a new manager. Comments about Town, especially Delap were very good and brilliant to hear. I didn't hear or see the game so was pleased to see how good we looked - as others have said, we looked as though we belong in this league.

Match of the Day 2 on 23:45 - Nov 24 with 2673 views | N2_Blue | I'm really not sure why out fans think there is this Ipswich anti-bias where it comes to MOTD. I sais same after Spurs game. Fans were all satying it was how bad spures were and nothing on us but i think that was blatantly untue. Same today, Utd with a new manager were always going to get additional coverage but they still covered us with an additional bit on Delap and said numerous times we caused United problems. I thought it was fine and exactly what i would have expected if United had been playing anothe team. Its getting a bit tiring now. At least our fans couldn't moan about offcials today, great ref performance.

Just my gut reaction to seeing it. I’m probably wrong. They were complimentary about Delap and Omari. The rest? Well, it’s all opinion I guess. I went to the game and it was very interesting - a good one. I actually don’t know about belonging in this league, but there’s an awful lot of togetherness and adjustment to this level taking place. The players are giving their all and I think the team is getting stronger. They’re doing this with losing a lot of players through injury too.

It’s not about anti ITFC bias or anyone else. It’s about the balance of what they show, what they’re interested in and want to talk about. Basically the top six clubs. Fine, huge numbers of people are only interested in them but for me they way the BBC present stuff is a huge switch off, which is why I rarely watch it. Probably just my misplaced perception, but it’s a view to be agreed or disagreed with. Each to their own.

You must have watched a different version to me ! It was pretty much all you united and then as the OP said just a small bit about Delap and Hutchinson! The girl was asked if she thought we could stay up and replied by saying we would have to keep Delap and Hutchinson injury free. Really biased coverage without saying how well we played. Sky Sports coverage was very different!

That’s accurate, exactly how it (last night’s MotD, ie) was. They didn’t mention KM once, nor how we played as a team. Very flattering to Delap (and Hutch to a lesser extent) but those two couldn’t play as well as they do without the rest of the team also doing superbly. No mention of the excellent support they got up front, or Cajuste’s likely point-saving challenge, eg. [Post edited 25 Nov 2024 2:14]

It's an hour long show, the main game shown was Saints Liverpool, time constraints come into play the big story for everyone bar us Ipswich fans was the new manager. Danny Murphy said Delap was the next Kane if that not high enough praise then I don't know what to say.

SO you basically want them to analyse every player who did well in a 1 hour programme? Its the same for every game on MOTD or MOTD2, they pick a couple of players. They can't cover everything. United were always going to get more coverage because it was Amorims first game. It would have been a much bigger story if we'd won and we'd have got a bit more coverage, but they were still very complimentary about Town. There's not a lot wrong with Houghton saying we'd only have a chance if keeping Omari and Liam. Ok maybe she doesn't know much about our team and its a bit of a lazy take but it's correct. Take those two out of the team for an extended spell and i sayd we'd have virtunatlly no chance of staying up. I think we're just one long injury to Delap from being in trouble. Essential we get another striker in Jan.

“SO you basically want them to analyse every player who did well in a 1 hour programme?” I actually said completely the opposite. They spent around 10-12? minutes discussing MU, fair enough, and then 0 minutes discussing ITFC. They discussed Delap as an individual for about 2 minutes and Hutch for about 10 seconds. The match wasn’t Delap + Hutch v MU. They could have spent some of those 2’ 10” discussing how ITFC played as a team, with at least some mention of our manager who coached us to achieve that result!

So far we have had more praise from MOTD2 than MOTD but I guess some of our better performances have been Sundays, you also get a bit more focus with less games going on

Match of the Day 2 on 10:05 - Nov 25 with 1225 views | Whos_blue | Given the circumstances around the game, I thought when they finally got us they were ok. A new manager at United is a big football story in the Premier league era. Newly promoted bottom 3 Ipswich isn't. I thought the segment was as expected.
