Lose the next two and we're doomed 13:46 - Dec 2 with 1516 viewsTexacoCup

I actually think we'll beat Palace and get at least a point from Bournemouth but if we get beat twice this week, I don't see how we can avoid the drop
I'll be shouting my head off in supporting the Town tomorrow !

By getting some of the 69 points that will still be up for grabs?

People need to stop picking random dates/games etc and claiming that will be it. It's just not true and what if we do lose both? We give up? Obviously not so get a grip.

Truly impaired.

Agree, these are the games where we must take points off of those that will be in our mini league.
We may get another Spurs style result along the way but ultimately of the 75 points left available, without picking up wins soon we’ll be in a very difficult position.

I wouldn't go as far as doomed, there's plenty of football left to play after Sunday. Back to back home games against middling / bottom half sides has to be seen as a good opportunity to pick up some points though. Lets hope that 1st home win can come tomorrow night.

The way I see it is we need to get our noses ahead of Leicester in the first instance. If we can set ourselves as the highest placed of the promoted sides, which I think we're capable of, its then a case of hoping that's enough to also be above one of those more established PL clubs come May.

I do see the next 3 games as important to get something substantial from them. I personally feel if we do not get 5 to 6 points it will be disappointing.

There are points gaps forming and I think that first win at home will be like the spurs win a little monkey off the fans back.

We are in a mini league and we knew we would be but it is about keeping the points ticking over. 3 against Palace and things will look brighter.

The problem is that winning at Spurs doesn't help us when we lose at home to Everton. We would have been far better beating Everton but losing to Fulham, Villa and Man U as we deny a relegation rival 3 points. Any points to Palace is making things harder - if we lose to Palace but beat Chelsea it might look flash but will get us relegated.

Before Saturday i though we needed 2 wins out of the 4 games and still think that out of the next three though expect palace and wolves to be the two we'll have the best chance in

I said early on in the season I thought it would take half a season to properly adapt to the Prem and for all the new players to bed in, and if we could get 15 points, that would be decent, and we'd push on a bit in the second half of the season and get another 20-25. 6 games to go until the end of the first half and I'm looking for 6 more points. Certainly still very achievable.

Crazy statement, without any real critical thought.

If the 6 clubs around us continue to achieve similar or worse results, we'll be in with a shout until the end of the season. It's all relative. We lost at the weekend, but didn't lose any significant ground to the other clubs at the foot of the table.

If any of the lower clubs (including us) put together a little run, with 2 or 3 wins mixed in, and the others don't, then they begin to shift towards the mid-table pack.

It's far to early to talk about being doomed...

Doomed might be a little OTT, but things will definitely be tougher.
In another thread a while ago I was hoping for 18 points after the Fulham game.
This might just still be achievable.

The next 2 games will not define our season. Other than the West Ham game, we haven't been outplayed by any of them. We are just as likely to beat Arsenal, Chelsea etc as we are Palace or Bournemouth. In our form, we need to fear no one. Obviously we need wins as soon as possible, but don't be surprised by the teams we do beat this season.

Its comments like this that will make for a really nervy atmosphere at Portman Road tomorrow and Sunday - Which won't help at all

We desperately need a win, but we certainly aren't "doomed" if we don't
