I think thats true. They are better than their position shows and have had injuries. They were very compact off the ball and didn't play into our hands by opening up in search of goals. Very fine margins. A greaves slip / tumble, and the thickness of the post were the difference. |  | | |

Palace’s trouble is scoring goals. Defensively they’re strong, as we saw tonight. They are where they are on merit, but their platform is really solid. It would only take another top class player or top up top to turn them back into that top 10 team.
We just lack the quality to break teams down unless we’re really on it, which we weren’t tonight. |  |

We really didn't offer enough going forward, they controlled us much better than anyone we have played so far, including Liverpool really | |

I thought we showed signs tonight for the first time of lacking confidence and playing it too safe. A lot of possession ended back with Muric. Some of that was probably down to less movement up front but we seemed to really struggle to get on the front foot. Obviously Palace made it tough but I just thought we were a bit too timid. |  | | |

We didn't cause them too many problems and they controlled the game. Our transition was far too slow especially when they went to a back five after the goal. Great endeavour from everyone but just came up short ( again ) on the execution. |  | | |

They controlled us better than even Liverpool

Everyone seems to be in a false position. I think we’ll probably find Everton, Palace, Leicester are bottom 7 sides. We’ve taken 1 point of those and all at home. Not a criticism, I don’t think it’s a lack of effort or desire and we’ve definitely not had the rub of the green at times, but we’re just a bit of a level off IMO and lack a cutting edge. We’re well organised & fit, but a bit toothless, a bit pedestrian and easy to play against. We’re competitive though and I think we’ll continue to be this season as we’re too well organised not to be. Who knows where it takes us, but I think the supporters need to stick with it and enjoy the journey. |  | | |

That's exactly what we shouldn't do.
If we go down playing progressive football then so be it.
Palace had more nous than us today and controlled most if not all areas on the pitch. What people are forgetting is that McK and the team have shown us that tvy3 are capable of adapting. Late second first half today there was a danger we could be overrun, we weren't!
It's going to.be a long season but there's still plenty to play for. |  |

Agreed. I’d put some of that down to Palace, but irrespective we also played with quite a slow tempo. Not our finest. I turned it off in disgust as soon as the whistle went lol, but I’d be interested to hear KM’s take on it. | |

Yep they pressed very high and were confident enough to do it which kept us playing or trying to play far too deep.. |  | | |
