If you'd told me it would be 17 games til our first one-to-90 shellacking I'd have signed up for that. It could have been a lot worse. And I think most of us know both the wider context and the very specific situation in which we entered today.

Those that booed at 3-0 and half-time? Not having you, not after the two years we've had. Much more of that and you'll end up with the club you deserve, it's pretty safe to say that, and the rest of us will be there to judge you heavily for it.

A bad day, the first goal the most annoying for me because we shouldn't be done like that after 20-odd seconds, but if that's as bad as it gets this season we'll be ok. Everyone needs to stick together and have an appreciation of the context. It's got us a long way and will take us further.

Whilst I don't condone booing. Many of those will be the reason we were able to fund the signings that go the club to the prem.

Without them the club wouldn't be where it is. Ashtons wise enough to know you'll have about 60% of supporters attending because they just want to follow the town. The other 40% of home crowd are there to watch town hopefully win the game and be successful. Hence the attendances when we weren't winning dropped by over half.

Is booing welcome not at all. But there's one way to stop that happening...

Not the multi millions the owners have put in?

The fans have contributed some of the money that’s been invested, but the owners and Prem money now we’re here have contributed more.

One way to stop that happening is not to be in the Premier League or be in a colossal battle against nation-state funded teams and clubs that have been primed for this across years or decades. I assume you mean that way? Because that's the way we'll head if the lads you're batting for decide to turn against an excellent group of players – or individuals within that group – who had a rotten day today.

I didn't boo, I just didn't really give any reaction as I felt so down about the whole thing, could never boo a team in those circumstances.

What I did see though after the match affected me more, people around who are people who only started coming last year saying they were embarrassed to wear the shirt and consigned it to their bag or suchlike saying they were embarrassed and how they hadn't been for years and won't bother next season if things don't improve.

We could only spend what we could based in turnover so yes the increase in attendances played a bigger part than the wealth of the owners.

That said its a balancing act. But if those 60% stopped going. There wouldn't be funds available to do anything.

West Ham we were well in it until just after half-time. Then yes, absolutely. City ... ok, although at least we struck the first blow. As you suggest, we have a big chance and people really have to hold their nerve.

That's fine, but I wouldn't say that's our first 1-90 shellacking.

To be honest, as miserable as I feel tonight, I'll take 4-0 against Newcastle, 4-1 at Manchester City, a thrashing from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea if we can beat the teams around us. The results against the likes of West Ham, Palace (thanks, forrestsfringe, quite right - 1-0. Have edited), Everton and, to a lesser extent, Leicester and Southampton are a bigger issue than today.

Not at all reuser. This is the league a large part of the support base wanted us in. Its what sponsors want us in and what the owners want us in.

As mentioned many and rightly so won't give a sht about how this season plays out. But there are thousands who returned to PR because we were winning most games. If not all home games especially.

We've not won a game at home yet this season. Its not surprising to see a vocal minority start to come out. That's just how football is.

I can't think of another, we were level with West Ham after 43 minutes, should even have gone ahead at 1-1. Everton were two clear of us by half time but in another world we'd have scored a sitter in the second minute and had a penalty. Man City we were ahead after a minute. Today, though, we were well out of it from the start. Maybe there's an absolute beating I am missing, it's been a long day. You are correct that Palace felt worse than today and those are the games that will decide our fate.

Honestly can't stand some of the Johnny come lately fans. The booing at half time was so poor.

Lots leaving early.

People shouting about playing out from the back so clearly haven't watched all McKenna's teams.

I'd say we were basically out of it against both Everton and Palace. Those performances felt worse as they were against teams around us, but we didn't really turn up and perform from the off. Felt flat both on the pitch and in the stands.

West Ham, I agree, we were in the game until conceding the second and then fell apart.

Appreciate that. Maybe wrong terminology. I just meant playing nice football won't keep them happy when results don't match it.

We've had the luxury of alot of good looking football with winning matches. Especially at home the Last couple of seasons. There's not been many occasions where we've played poorly at home. So this is a new experience for many of these new or returned town fans..
