BBC Doesn't suggest what many on the forum say about Saturday - Good article on 18:26 - Dec 23 with 2856 views | mutters | If some fans are questioning the manager then they need to get their head in order. People have to remember where we've come from, what the journey has been like over the last few years and in reality where we are today. The club is still growing, recovering from a neglected period in our history and whatever happens this season there is no chance we sack our manager. He is more likely to be courted by other clubs that us sack him. Suspect those who are questioning him are ones who jumped on the bandwagon in recent years

I’m sure that’s a reference to which ever brain dead morons booed at half-time.
BBC Doesn't suggest what many on the forum say about Saturday - Good article on 18:38 - Dec 23 with 2771 views | Churchman | The article has it about right. Maybe I wasn’t listening, but I didn’t notice booing on Saturday. No doubt there was some. 26000 home supporters you are bound to have a percentage that don’t get it. Yes, quite a few left before the whistle. But the game was long over and getting out of Ipswich after a game isn’t the easiest. It was a nasty winters day too. They didn’t melt away in 1000s at half time as we have seen with one or two other clubs on the wrong end of a hiding. Most people understand who and what we are, where we’ve come from and what the club is trying to do. Most people are not blind or that stupid. McKenna has been fantastic for us as have the owners. If this is a step to far at the moment (looks like it), so what? KM hasn’t a magic wand. Just a way of wanting his team to play (properly), a work ethic, deep knowledge of the game and the support of CEO and owners. The last six months are a massive learning curve for all, not least him. It ought to be for supporters too. But there will be those with Fantasy Football teams, Gameboy and FM24 (some of them total bellends sadly) who will pursue the nonsense. It’s just the way it is sadly. For me, McKenna stays as long as he wishes to. [Post edited 23 Dec 2024 18:46]

The man is a revelation for us and if he keeps us up, it's one of the best management jobs in English football history, imo. Interesting to see a few in the comments questioning Morsy as leggy and well off the pace.

I don't think it's entirely unfair to question the manager. It is, after all, part of the football fan experience, to debate how things are going. McKenna is something of a genius - but even geniuses get it wrong sometimes, or fall victim to fixed ideas. Of course, that's not at all the same as calling for his head. Merely suggesting alternatives we think may have worked better in certain situations. Probably alternatives which McKenna himself has considered. While we're prepared to follow McKenna to the ends of the Earth after what he's achieved, it is not a blind faith. Even Guardiola nods.

Perhaps an extra few days rest will do our Captain some good. Not that I expect he will be putting his feet up overmuch.

Almost like they didn't see his goal saving tracking back and challenge when they broke.

But that is why this is a great place for him to learn his trade and gain experience. If he had moved too quickly and not performed immediately, he would have been out, being a football manager is brutal. We just need to keep right behind him and the team because history tells us, our greatest chance of winning anything is to get behind young talented managers.

I don’t think anybody with at least a 1% football brain is questioning our manager in terms of him being the man to lead us.

There was a bit of booing at half-time not a lot but definitely there. i think that was more due to the nature of the third goal and the chance we gave away immediately after that as much as anything else. I think most people gauge the size of the challenge needed to stay up with the squad we have but I'm not going to be critical about a little bit of frustration.

“you are bound to have a percentage that don’t get it.” Life? The concept of sport? It never ceases to amaze me that there are a few who get excessively angry/irrational whenever we don’t win. Welcome to the real world kids. You have take the rough with the smooth in this life, and not being able to just makes one look like a spoilt brat. IMO. If you support a club you’re going to have some downs along the way.

"Southampton and Leicester are different to Ipswich as we've been away from the Premier League for a long time. If we do slip back down it's not a catastrophe and will be something we have to accept. But I'm absolutely convinced this team that might go down is better than the team that brought us up."

Now it is, but would it still be as good a team after those who can get deals with other PL clubs? We’d be in a very financially compete place though compared to last season, but hopefully it won’t come to that and we have a better second half of the season.
