That would be my read of it too given that it sounds like a personal call with KM swung it for us.
Looks like the player had a few options so hard to imagine he would sign for a club with a high probability that the coach who signed him wont be there in six months time.

It's a near certainty he'll move if we go down, might be a small chance he stays if we stay up but definitely not one we should count on.
