George Hirst.
Think maybe some are too quick to dismiss Hirsty.
Susceptible to injuries but many players are and he's worked hard to get back again. Don't forget how good he was in the small number of games he featured in. Great at Brentford and very important cameo at Spurs.
Looked very sharp in the cup game.
Like Broady, right under our noses!

That's why an Evan Ferguson loan seemed the best option but we didn't seem to be looking at him at all. |

He’s another one who seems to pick up lots of niggling injuries, bit like Hirst.

Very hard though to find an upgrade who is available, who wants to come, who makes sense for long term future of the club and will add quality. For a start, it won't be a starting striker.

Al hamadi hasn’t started a game all year and has barely played more than 10 minutes. If Delap and Hirst got injured then I would agree we are instantly down - but we have people who can score elsewhere on the pitch if 1 was to get injured

Delap can manage 70mins (odd occasion when he’s done 80/85) The drop off when he goes off is massive.
When he’s off we threaten little to nothing.
Haven’t gone tho all the games but I dare say we’ve not picked up many points once he’s off the pitch? | |

I think the bigger picture is more of a worry. While I think Delap stays if we don’t go down for another season he will be going at some point if he carries on developing. We need to be looking a season or two ahead at all times, we have got a lot of young players on long deals done this season but should always be building on what we have. The stars of one season become the bench of the next (not all) then squad players it’s how teams evolve. | | | |
