Like the incurable fool we all are .... 09:15 - Jan 19 with 3114 views | SomethingBlue | ... I've woken up convincing myself we can get something today. We're going to need the defensive focus we showed for an hour against Brighton, plus the ability we showed against Chelsea to get among them and ask questions – but more of both. Not much point just sitting in, they just pick you off, we need to show them we're there. This season City do give you a chance so we have to hope it comes at the right time of the game and we take it. They don't particularly like runners from deep and I also think Hutchinson/Philogene can cause some real problems if we work them into space. From there it requires the right pass/shot selection. Huge ask for us though – really hope we can just produce something that stirs people. [Post edited 19 Jan 9:16]

POST OF THE DAY (I’ve woken up positive as well - different to pre-Etihad) on 11:19 - Jan 19 by unstableblue | I thought it would 6,7,8-0 at the Etihad at the start of the season. We had moments. Although Ipswich weren’t at the level they can now achieve that day. It was early in the project. We’ve learnt a lot. But SB wanted to pick out 3 things from your post, a strategy for today: 1. Go into the low block for periods, BUT, do not allow City to become 1-3-6… you just get too dug-in 2. Get into their heads by winning duels, pressing high and strong tackles - but crucially break on them … create chances, make them think it’s not going to be easy 3. Break the lines and have runners going at them… city as you say don’t like it Need the centre backs to bring it out as well |
All of the above Show some respect but don’t roll over is the aim whether have the capacity to do so is another story Here’s hoping

Exactly this. The reason for being in the PL is to test yourself against some of the best in the world. (and the cash) Let's always try and win games.

It's rope-a-dope, but going pretty heavy on the dope. That's my excuse, anyway.

What is the closest you have been to a happening? I think mine was at Knebworth when Paul McCartney was backing up Pink Floyd (I kid you not). During Hey Jude 90,000 people started throwing polystyrene trays in the air. The Sun was setting and around 85,000 of the audience were tripping. Amazing stuff. It pissed down when Floyd came on. They nearly had to abandon the set. Crazy days baby.
