Think of it what you will.. 19:55 - Jan 19 with 4662 viewsBYRNE_16

… but shouting abuse at your fellow town fans who decide to leave early is wholly unacceptable!
Grown men who should know better, acting like petulant children.

80mins? Pah!

I left at half time to head home for my delicious roast dinner. Got to see Haaland and KDB in the flesh, grab a couple of photos, and then watch the second half from the comfort of my recliner. Luxury!

I don’t agree with the shouting abuse etc but I also make no apology for saying it was really poor that people were leaving in their droves from the north stand when McAtee scored. People can give a valid reason to validate it, but let’s just call it for what it was, it was quitting on the team. Singing ”We support the Ipswich, if we’re down if we’re up” before doing a runner 20 minutes before full time is pretty embarrassing.

Yes, that’s exactly what I said because allegiance and love for your football club is exactly the same as going to the cinema or out for dinner.

I would happily go to see as much of Town as I could, even if it meant I had to leave early for some games. That’s what being a fan means to me.

It’s a shame that some fans seem to want to criticise fellow fans for something so trivial that has no effect on them.

But yes, I’m the one who is sounding stupid, obviously.

I don't think it's trivial, I think you should stay to the end... Follow the town up or down.

No the point is you wouldn't do it for that so why would you do it for something you love!

People that go for 75 minutes every week have still sacrificed more of their time (and provided more support, by your reckoning) than you have by doing 90 irregularly

Yeah brilliant, great for them... If that's the case I'll be happy going to what I can then thanks

I can't believe how many 'fans' leave before the games finished to sit in traffic
..
Support the team til the end or can I have your season ticket so I don't have to be in a ballot every game

Ironic someone who has to enter the ballot to get tickets saying what makes a good fan.. no surprise you wouldn’t of been going a few years ago 👍🏻

Some 'fans' put work over going to the games. Makes me sick

Yeah it's awful isn't it
..other than the work is partly to work on epl football games, hence not having the time to go to every game

You can't even be bothered to find a job that gives you weekends off.

You're in no position to lecture people on doing it for something they love. They were there, spending money, you weren't and haven't been for ages.

Maybe if you had a season ticket when we weren’t very good you’d have no trouble getting tickets now 👍🏻.

Chuckle. OK then, so it’s all or nothing and you’d rather not go to the game than go knowing you can’t stay to the end.

Each to their own, but unlike you I’d rather do all I can to see my team.

So let's be charitable and assume you did something really involved like surgical college, which took you seven years. Still couldn't be bothered to come back in 2017.

Yeah you're completely right I never went to a single game after 2010 because I had to give up my season ticket for moving away for uni. Then I turn up for man city today and want to have a say!

No, you were criticising fans who choose to leave early, by putting fans in quotes, implying they aren’t real fans.

That is what I found a little churlish as you have no idea about what these fans have had to sacrifice to be at the game at all, but you’re assumption is they aren’t as much of a fan as you, else you wouldn’t have put the quotes in place.

...and you make it sound like I've not sacrificed anything at in my life as being a town fan
...noone is a bigger fan than anyone else... My point it with the supporting of the players til the end

Exactly, you now agree that all fans are the same despite using the term “fans” initially to belittle those who leave early. I’m glad you’ve changed your opinion after all this, you probably feel better now. You’re welcome.

I was actually just reading a tweet about the support from the fans at the end of the game and how it gave that tweeter goosebumps. Which is did for me aswell. That made me feel better, not the belittling of posters on this thread
