Look at the Table! 21:46 - Jan 20 with 3498 viewsLA_Tractor_Boy

KMc spent two seasons insisting that the players and coaching staff focused on performances and didn't pay attention to the league table.

But as he has said the players lacked belief (against Brighton) and confidence (against Man City) perhaps this week would be a good time to look at the table.

Only goal difference separates us from survival with 16 games remaining. Defeats against Brighton and Man City haven't changed the gap to 17th.

I think that ahead of Liverpool he needs to remind them of the first hour against them at PR and look at what we can do to extend that for a full 90 minutes. We are a fitter squad than we were then with Philogene, Clarke, Hirst and Godfrey added too. I am sure all of us would take a backs-to-the-wall 0-0.

I'd take a never get a kick of the ball 0-0!

It will all come down to our results against Leicester, Southampton, Wolves and Everton. If we win those we give ourselves a good chance of staying up. I still think 4th from bottom will be less than 30pts.

It's a narrative, of course they look at the table, sorry but don't buy it.

27 to survive last year and we're currently trending worse after 22 games played:

I would accept 10 blokes stood on our goal line for 90 minutes for that. I wouldn't like it, but I'd live with it.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

We aren’t getting anywhere near that total.

Aim for 40 start of season by all means, aim for that now and we are snuck before March. The risks we would be taking to squeeze the extra points from games will leave us hung drawn and quartered imho

92 last year to finish above Man City.

Why does it matter what Forest had? They finished 17th, we don't need to finish above 17th, just above 18th. Hence 27 would have meant we survived last season

Like what big Mick used to say about, if you offered me a point, I wouldn't get on the coach.
Difference is though, he would say that when we were going to places like Rotherham or Barnsley.

It's bizarre to me that people seem to think Wolves are suddenly going to pull 22 points out of 16 games when they've currently got significantly less than that out of 22 games. Surely that's just regurgitated wisdom or soundbites from previous years? I'd love to hear a rationale if not.

We only need to finish one point above Wolves and we are all but guaranteed safety. I think that will be a good chunk below 38 points.
