This is TNT and Sky for their new deals starting in August. Other options include interviewing substituted players and filming in dressing rooms.
In-game interviews with managers seems particularly ludicrous to me. I want McKenna's full focus on the game, not exchanging some inane back and forth with Dion Dublin (or whoever)!
Is this really what the game's coming to? Hopefully it won't happen, but the fact it's even on the table is...well, a sign of the times. |  | | |  |

I remember Bobby Robson being interviewed by Gerry Harrison during a game and he missed a goal. SBR was properly pissed off.

It's been done during early rounds of the FA Cup for a few years, and I agree it is very intrusive and quite embarrassing really, you can tell the manager really doesn't want to engage but is 'contractually obliged' or something like that. | | | |

Completely unnecessary and designed in the hope broadcasters will catch managers on a bad day and swear or slag off the ref and they can send it viral and get more clicks and then we all die.
Over here it’s somehow accepted as normal that journalists have full access to the locker room to interview players and coaches rather than wait for the official presser. Bonkers |  |

That's not needed at all.
I remember in the 90's for the CL (when it was only the champions) SAF used to speak to ITV before walking back on the pitch, I didn't mind that - TV channels don't want long as it eats into their advertising time!

I watch college football and they do this. The coaches usually give a useless/nonsensical few word sentence answer as they obviously don’t give a fck during a live match. But I guess are obligated to do it even if it’s just a sponsorship thing.
Anyone remember a few years back that Sky randomly hyped up a Portsmouth(?) match for days as it would be a “world first” dressing room access at half time. I don’t know what happened but it was never seen again, so that probably says everything |  |
