Good, never a red. Attempt at a trip goes wrong, ends up catching the ankle with his studs. His leg is at full extension and just rakes the ankle. If you are hanging a leg there to trip someone the studs will naturally be the position they were so the possibility of catching someone with the studs is high. The contact was stinging but hardly likely to injure. The frozen shot is taken out of context of the whole video which just shows a "professional foul" to stop a break. If Leif does it I am happy with him for doing it. No intention to injure.

Should this have been a red card? on 12:03 - Jan 26 by southnorfolkblue | No, but I hate those cynical tackles when the ball is in a different postcode so I don’t have much sympathy for him tbh. As someone else has said earlier this is exactly the sort of tackle that the proposed sin bin rule would address |
If one of our players did that I’d be applauding him taking a yellow for the team. Red my arse.

Should this have been a red card? on 18:31 - Jan 28 by Plums | Excellent. Validation of cheating and further undermining of referees, just what the game needed. [Post edited 28 Jan 18:31]

Encouraging kids who copy their hero's actions on the pitch. What's not to like?

OK, Then I never want to see anyone sent off for a reckless challenge that makes minimal or zero contact ever again.
