This has to be our chance to get 3 points. If we sink into " defend mode" we won't have many more chances to get 3 points.
With the new players we have to attack and dominate the game .
Get the right formation sorted and it should be a breeze. LoL.

After our last two games being very tight can't see it being much different, they tend to start well, score, dominate position then concede. It's a game we simply HAVE to win. I am nervous already and week has barely started yet.

CROWD will be needed throughout for this one.

I'd start Delap over Hirst as he is more match ready. Grab some early goals then switch them. Strongest team to start to make sure we aren't getting stressed at the end when they will park the bus to try and get a point. Whilst the Sarmiento moment was brilliant, would be keen to avoid that

It's a massive one for us because, based on league performance, it's the easiest game we'll have this season. 3pts are so hard to come by in this league we can't be giving them up in a game like this.

I suspect we'll see more to a firm 4 at the back and less of the hybrid back 5 system. Hopefully dibbling is still out injured, meaning they have very little to offer in attack.

For me it would have to be:

Muric (which will upset some on here)
Tuenzebe - Oshea - Greaves - Davis
- Cajuste - Morsy -
Hutch - Enciso - Philogene
- Delap -

I know people are hot on broadhead right now, but I like him more off the bench.

Other than Hutch for Philogene, i agree.

If we set up to defend as the primary tactic we should be relegated on the final whistle.

Highly doubt KM even considers doing that though, and he’ll play an attacking line up to show them/us that we are still in the mix to stay up

Stunned at the lack of people putting Morsy in their predicted 11. He's our captain and leader, this is our most important game of the season and will 100% start. Cant judge him on Man City or Liverpool performances.

I think we do have to defend. Stop Soton from scoring at all costs. I doubt we will dominate them.

However, we should also find it easier than the last two to get hold of the ball, transition into attack, break through and convert that into shots on goal. Doing that at speed is our strongest offensive weapon.

But we need to have that sold base of not going a goal or two behind, or conceding annoying equalisers.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

We have to be a lot more aggressive and attack from the first minute.

More of the tippy tappy sideways and backwards passing, Soton nick a goal, close shop and that will be curtains for us.

We are currently 19th...

Our next game is at home against the team 20th, 10 points behind us.
Then within our remaining 14 league games, we face the teams in:
15th - 8pts ahead
12th - 13 points ahead
13th - 11 points ahead
18th - level on points, -6 goal difference
16th - 7 points ahead
11th - 15 points ahead
17th - 1 point ahead
14th - 11 points ahead

Gain any wins from those, having seen what difference it has made for Everton getting back to back wins, we've got every chance of challenging for 17th at least.
