Definitely doing this out of a sense of patriotism, and not just to cream a tidy profit off the top... He's just a fascist Del Boy, isn't he.

I'm not so sure the Nazis had good intentions

What they wanted and what they did were not good, but they thought they were doing something good. They even knew that they were doing horrible things, which they justified with the greater good in their minds. The intension was not to be bad, but ultimately, you can't do horrific things and not end up with a horrific result.

It would be a good debate to have about how patriotism correlates with paying taxes. You might argue that paying taxes that prop up a government that is bad for the country is not patriotic.
He would be a hypocrite if he were telling others to pay as much tax as possible. Minimizing taxes may even put you off voting for him, but it is really difficult to see a correlation to patriotism.

For someone that always claim not to be a supporter of Farage you do appear pretty quickly on every thread that mentions him to:
*Defend
*Deflect
*Offer a balanced view of nuances

Please select the most appropriate description that applies/fits - suspect you'd choose the third option but I'd heavily bet that the majority of other posters would perceive you as being either the first or second options

You make some good points, then you come off like a child calling him "Führage".
If people really care about saving money they don't buy Pampers, but then again you can't always tell which nappies will give your child nappy rash.

It isn't absolutely clear that Farage is a "bad person", but anyway it doesn't matter because plenty of bad things have been done with good intentions, in fact the Nazis had good intentions (that is believed that they were good).

There is nothing wrong with Farage making money off of people saving money. There is a valid concern about how companies handle our data.

"The Nazi's had good intentions" - Of all the ridiculous ideas you spout, of which there are plenty, this is by far the worst. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

i don't think the use of 'good' here helps at all - they thought they were furthering their own group interests rather than any wider morality. how they rationalised that rhetorically was down to goebbels.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

More utter nonsense. He bleats continuously about overstretched public services whilst avoiding paying the taxes that fund said services. He's about as sincere as your claims not to support him.

The business can compete with brick and mortar based on costs, but delivery costs would be the killer and it would be near impossible to compete with Amazon.

In the case of the particular product being offered at the moment, what happens if you get too good at providing them cheaper than other outlets, is that Amazon buys you out to remove the competition.

So maybe he's hoping to get so good at this that Amazon buy him out for a ton of money.

i think it's extremely insensitive and clumsy rather than intentional. he may be making the point that no one, however evil, thinks of themselves as evil - but it is the wrong topic, not thought through and very crass.

Come on, "the nazi's had good intentions' isn't clumsy, it's deliberately provocative.

though the full quote is "in fact the Nazis had good intentions (that is believed that they were good)." it's crass and insensitive and inappropriate, but, with the qualifying phrase, is it untrue?

On reflection, my my reply was a bit of a two footed lunge, studs showing.... playing the man, not the ball

I apologise

My visceral loathing of Farage, his apologists and all they stand for clouded my judgement and good manners

I appreciate that you you probably hold different political beliefs to me but you always argue your case in a thoughtful and considered way

Thank you...

My great fear is that in 3 or 4 years time we will see the detestable Farage gurning on the front steps of No 10 as our new Prime Minister and we will be left wondering how did this come to pass

It will be due to his apologists and dirty tricks but mostly our sense of decency allowing his minions to spread his toxic poison under the guise of "fair play" and giving them benefit of doubt

No one in their right mind ever imagined that Trump 1.0 would ever happen, let alone Trump 2.0 ... and yet here we are

My prediction is that Farage will offer to disband reform and cross the floor to the Tories, on the condition that there is a leadership election with him on the ballot. He then wins said election and takes over the party in the same manner Trump has the Republicans in the US. If someone smarter than I could reassure me that won't happen I'd greatly appreciate it.

Perhaps nappies are part of his strategy of appealing to younger voters.

If he follows it up with incontinence pads, he's on to a sure-fire winner financially.
