The mysterious case of Latte-Lath ... 13:29 - Jan 31 with 2123 views | Bellevue_Blue | I for one an completely puzzled by the whole Latte-Lath saga .. Given that we have continually followed targets I find it very strange that we bid what we bid in September and haven't followed up at all this window. What changed? Did we spend the money of Philogene? This window he looked for all money to be heading to the MLS with a bid accepted but he's still yet to accept? Presumably thinks he might get a Prem move in the next 3 days?

The mysterious case of Latte-Lath ... on 13:35 - Jan 31 with 2027 views | SheffordBlue | In the summer it looked like a case of a late bid for someone who we thought we might be able to get at short notice but who was a bit of a way down our list. I think maybe now we've looked at him again and don't want to make him a priority target. I think it's quite easy to end up with a player on a long permanent contract who doesn't quite fit what you want them to do and might then be tricky to shift.

The mysterious case of Latte-Lath ... on 13:37 - Jan 31 with 1996 views | NedPlimpton | We were only willing to risk spending big for him once we realised Broja wasn't coming I guess since then Delap has established himself firmly as our starting number 9 (despite people wanting to push him out to the wing), so my guess would be that we're not in the market to spend up to £20m on a striker now we know we have someone who can do the business

The mysterious case of Latte-Lath ... on 14:00 - Jan 31 with 1780 views | BloomBlue | The club, like all clubs, I'm sure would sound out his agent about a move to Town in Jan. The difference now is in the summer he probably thought he would be coming here as the 2nd striker with Hirst, and a good chance of starting a lot of games. With Delap's incredible season he will know now that joining in Jan would see him fighting with Hirst for the striker place on the subs bench, and worse if he loses out to Hirst watching games from the stands

We wouldn't benefit from trying to bed in another Championship player, at a whole different level, mid-way through the season, anyway. It would be a waste of money, he's not going to keep us up and he would cost over his worth to bring in.

The mysterious case of Latte-Lath ... on 15:00 - Jan 31 with 1517 views | Stewart27 | What changed? Delap turning into one of the best strikers in the premier league. That’s what’s changed. Nobody knew he was going to be this good or effective. Therefore there was rightfully more panic in the summer about getting another number 9. Now we’re effectively looking for a third choice striker. If it doesn’t happen I won’t lose any sleep over it. People need to relax a little.

Didn't we offer £20m on deadline day in the summer?

I know we hadn't shown any interest up to a week or so ago, so think you're right, one we've moved on from. Believe he is in a complicated situation agents-wise as well, is soon to leave his current one and join a bigger set-up, so I assume the latter would prefer him to move on in the summer.
