Happy to do a Wigan and win the cup whilst going down.

I think we would all be delighted with that (albeit prefer to stay up).

A cup run would be good and there is no reason we shouldn't play the first team on Saturday. Give them a chance to play together and gain some confidence on the ball. As long as they don't go and lose to Coventry if we do and take a further hit to their confidence!

The way the draw is, there’s a pretty good (50%-ish?) chance of getting lower-league opposition in the next round, if Coventry are navigated. Win that and Wembley really isn’t far away.

We’d have to play Liverpool, City and Arsenal at some point and they’ll put 4-7 past us.

This is Ipswich, we’ll change half the team and go out to lower league opposition. That’s how this works.

Winning the F A Cup and being relegated would potentially be a disaster by hampering the prospect of promotion.

Remember what happened last time we ‘qualified’ for Europe.

What is it about our results v the top teams that makes you think winning the cup is remotely possible?

We’ll struggle to get past Coventry anyway.

Top teams are not that bothered by FA Cup who would have thought United would beat City last year. Sadly as a couple have said already we'll likely lose to Coventry anyway.

It's surely about time we had a decent cup run tho, our cup displays for last 20 years for the most part have been as embarrassing as yesterday's debacle.

....have an easy run to the quarters, where we'll score a late winner at Wolves.

We'll beat Spurs in the semi, then Chelsea in the final.

Sorted.

I think that, given how the attackers played a bit like strangers yesterday, that rather than changing the entire 11, set the team up with attacking intent that includes Philogene starting with Enciso, Hutchinson, and possibly Hirst, to give Delap a rest.

We could and have lost to worse than Coventry. They will be up for it in a big way. We have the capability to beat them but I suspect it will be our attitude as to whether we want or need a cup run. The more games we have whether using a "First eleven" or those not getting so much game time we will always be open to more injuries. We talk about if Hirst or Delap get an injury and who would we have as back up. But what if Muric got an injury we wouldn't even have a back up for Slicker.

The last time we qualified for Europe we had just finished 4th and it went wrong. The second season was a bonus. What went wrong was off the back of the first qualification. We didn't fail to go back up because of Europe.

Were we to be relegated and get the European spot through the FA Cup, we wouldn't be signing a squad to consolidate a top 6 in the Premier League challenge.

Selective memory. We ‘qualified’ the following year albeit via some daft rule.

Been in he champ and in Europe at the same time would be bloody brlliant. Some good away days, nice grounds and we would likely not get tonked every week.

I think my answer is clear about that. I didn't put qualified in quotes for that reason. It was the first of those two seasons that cost us not the second and that is entirely my point.

Really?

Coventry have fought to get back into the play-off fight. The cup game is sandwiched between games vs Leeds on Wednesday and QPR the following Tuesday. 3 games in 7 days.

Unlike in the Premier League there aren't blank weekends in the EFL for the FA Cup so any sort of run means fixture changes and a fixture pile-up, much as they suffered last year.

I think Big Frank will do everything he can to lose it.

Likely to put out his reserves but so are we. It is which set of players want it more probably. First team or reserves, ours generally haven't for whatever reason for about a decade or more in this competition. I hope that changes on Saturday, especially with no league match to worry about.

I'd expect our £10m reserves to be better than Coventry's kids.

We'll field a changed team, but KM will still want to win and we'll be well prepared. If we can get through this and get a kind draw, then we'll be entering "Cup Fever" territory.

Humbling was losing to Maidstone . The thought of losing to Lampard and the media lapping it up will be at most annoying.

Enciso played in the last round for Brighton and scored against a Norfolk team so will not be in the team at Coventry.
