Their owners - I won't get into nation states owning clubs here - haven't put a foot wrong yet, in the grand scheme of things, and I thought they'd happily spend whatever it took to improve St James'. Agreed on PR - we will realise how lucky we are in about 10 years.

At least it's in the same vicinity as St. James Park and in the city centre. I could think of far worse options.

If you've been there recently it's not in a great state and they are limited with what they can do with the existing setup. The proposed new stadium is literally a stones throw from the existing ground, which I know many Grordies are delighted with.

I suspect Newcastle’s new stadium will fall into the stunning category. The new designs is practically on the same site as SJP - will Newcastle still be able to play at SJP whilst they build their new stadium? It somewhat overlaps.

Thought Spuds ground was ok , however the away end was poor queing for a p!ss and a beer was terrible, prefered Forest Greem, at least on a hot day ground staff were offering free iced water

Probably the first time I've seen Spurs stadium compared less favourably to Forest Green Rovers!

Bit like Town who have lots of fans moaning they can not a ticket, they need to expand the ground. Their problem is on one side of the ground they cannot expand because some properties are Grade1 or 2 listed, or something silly like that. Crazy, knock them down, the football club generates loads of income for the entire community, a bigger ground has to be better than a few old properties. Trouble is as grounds get bigger to handle the volume of fans who want to go they're built higher up and outwards, leading to grounds without atmosphere.

I can't read the article as it's paywalled. Can you copy/paste the but that states the agreed design because if you're going on the image on the Tweet then that's very much not from the club and in no way an architectural intent drawing.
