Anyone on here keep discus I wonder, I’m in the process of setting up a Amazonian biotope, got a huge piece of wood soaking in the bath, tanks on order from Aquatlantis, lights here as is most of the ancillary equipment.

I did do the brickwork myself, but the important caveat is that the wall is completely invisible in the final pond! It is perfectly shaped, and dead level at the top, but the pointing would appal a proper brickie. Pond in 3 stages.

Mine would (will - let’s be positive lol) be exposed, so I don’t think I’d trust myself from point of view of the strength or the looks.

The pictures don't link property atm so you might want to fix that but I got the images by copying and pasting. Looks cracking though Dubs, as did your last pond. Were you tempted to go a bit bigger??

I did think long and hard about what size to go for, but this is about right for the space it's in. It's 4m by 3m so a decent size.

You need to do two things though.

1/ Be a crack shot and get up very early in the morning.

2/ Bury it quick because they are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act

weve just bought a medium sized (160l) aquarium for ourselves.(well, the fish mostly)

the guy we're working with to help us has sagely said "you dont keep fish, you keep water"

we're currently struggling to get the amonia/nitrates/algae levels correct... hopefully a few more weeks and its sorted.

learning that its a slow process, not an instant results thing.
