My take is we won't stay up this season, but we'll give it a much better shot in the 2026/27 season, when the player recruitment will be more targeted in terms of bigger individual fees for fewer players - but players who can really make a difference (including more recruitment from abroad).
Next season, assuming it's in the Championship, will be great for developing some of the newer players who aren't quite ready for the Premier League yet. And I reckon we'll be top two all the way.
The biggest regret we'll have is conceding a late consolation goal in a 5-1 whupping of the Canaries at Carrow Road. |  | | |

Unfortunately not. There's not enough physical power in the squad.
Regardless of which league we're in next season, it's going to be another rebuild. New midfield will be needed plus Delap will probably go and possibly Davis (they said on commentary that he is one of the highest chance creators in the league). |  | | |

Bridge too far today, with us losing and Wolves winning, there is very little chance of us staying up. We were never quite there in this league with not seeing out games, very little home points, mistakes that cost us points, decisions that didn't go our way, injuries at bad times. We never got any real momentum even though we competed well in most games. The new players that came in needed to hit the ground running and few if any did. It's such a shame because we will lose the players that have made an impact. Hopefully the ones that haven't will get us back immediately and will have a season to harden them up for a better shot next time. |  | | |

As we are the only Premiership side not to win a league game in 2025 then it is difficult to see how our fortunes are going to change and we put a winning run together. Imo today was probably the last nail in the coffin. [Post edited 22 Feb 22:46]

No. Wed need a run of wins which I just can't see happening.
What we need to do now though is see the same lineup that may play together next season. Still include the likes of delap and Davis. Phillips etc
But keep using clarke. Philogene and hutch as the forward line so they can become what we had in chappers. Broadhead and burns. |

as stated on blue monday, for us to stay up we needed to be at the top of our game, get a decent amount of luck *and* have at least one team implode.

We're just not quite good enough when it really matters.
KM consistently refers to "fine margins". That really sums us up well.
I think the Wolves result is the real kicker today and a 5 point gap at this stage of the season with the run in we have will just be too much for us.
This doesn't mean I've given up nor will my support ever waver, but the OP asked for an honest answer.

I see so many good things each match but the gap in terms of quality, athleticism, goal scoring is massive. I do see us improving a little but I’m really struggling to see where we get more than 25 points at the moment. I still go back to that little period of games either side of Leicester, then the Dec/Jan run, it showed how difficult it would be to convert draws to wins and later took all momentum out of a slow but improving start. Wolves now look better equipped to score the goals required to pick up points and beat us to the drop. However it is football, Wolves may get injuries and they might not do it and we might win our last 4, unlikely as it feels today.
It will be an interesting summer whatever happens and next season will come along soon enough. [Post edited 23 Feb 6:38]
