Thinking of leaving Sky and signing up to NowTV because what I’m paying is just a joke nowadays. Anyone got any experience with Now TV, is it any good? Be mostly using it for the Sky sports package.

Thanks in advance!

How long have you been with Sky?

In my experience if you have been with them a few years, then you can get yourself a much better deal if you ring, tell them you are thinking of cancelling, and explain that you don't want to leave, but you can't justify the cost. I've done this every year for the past 5+ years and always managed to get a much better package.

Can't help with Now TV unfortunately but I'm in the same boat with Sky. Have had it for the football for a long time but always feel guilty as it's Sky responsible for causing so much damage to the game but I love watching games.

Sky clobbering me despite being long term customer and trying to negotiate a better deal is almost impossible if seems. Takes ages to get through and then a battle to get any kind of reasonable offer.

Definitely ring them, play the loyalty card (nice and politely) tell them you don't want to leave but you can't see any other option. They will definitely improve your deal. Also, if you haven't signed up for SKY VIP after seven years then you really should. Lots of competitions, ticket ballots and night out options to be had.

No, I don't work for Sky 😂

Go on chat and say you want to cancel because you're going to Now TV. They really don't seem to like it and should offer you a deal.

NowTV is absolutely fine, although it runs about a minute behind the normal Sky feed, so if you have goal alerts or similar on your phone, turn them off when watching us live!

Happy with NowTV. Currently paying £19.99 a month for Sky Sports on a 6 month contract + £2/£6 extra for boost/ultra boost. Like the flexibility of the shorter contracts and not having to pay for other packages/channels I'm not interested in.

I almost signed up for Sky before the season because I thought we'd be on sky a lot. I'm glad I didn't. I have Amazon Prime anyway and I just do pay-per-view if we're on TNT or Now TV if we're on sky. I'm definitely not out of pocket.

I dont subscribe to Sky and Now TV hardly ever shows our games. I watch
Fawanews football live stream free, every game, no cost, no fees, you get used to the ads and no vpn going abroad.

I did exactly this a couple of years ago. My contract was coming to an end and I'd decided to switch to virgin media. I told Sky this so they offered me loads of discounts so I renewed with them paying half of what I was paying before for everything. It's crept up again now however and I'm back to paying over £100 a month for everything.

Not done that for years. My mate runs a Plex server which I have access to, and he puts all the latest movies on there. So i just stream from that when I wanna watch a movie. All perfectly legal of course <wink>

Good luck with that. We tried. We could only sign up for NOW via Sky. Sky more or less said "computer says 'no'" We had to avoid any break in broadband coverage during the changeover and they couldn't guarantee a seamless switch.
We dumped skysports no more deals to be had with them now - - are grateful for anything on Prime or watch Town TV after the event

I want to get one of these Kodi boxes. Then i can get rid of Sky. Will it give me access to Sky content though? I watch a lot of stuff on Sky Atlantic for example.

As I'm in Tenerife for a lot of the winter (where a full Tv package, including Sky & all the Saturday 3pm kick offs costs about £100 a year) I'm fed up with paying Sky so much so clearly NowTV could be a better option.

£100 per month!!! Wow.

Buy a fire stick, £50 a year, all channels, films, boxset etc... I know it's not legal but man Sky really are taking the p!ss here and I can see why people choose to go another way

Yes to this - if Sky did decent packages and prices people would not resort to the stick option

I am paying Sky UK £95:50 for sports, HD & multiscreen (2 rooms). Yes, I've probably been lazy & I've been with Sky for 30 years so I should try to negotiate a better deal. In Tenerife, I pay £44 per month for broadband plus everything Sky offers (movies, sport etc).

That is a big difference, I asked out of interest because a Greek guy I used to work with a few years ago paid around 25% of the cost of UK service when in Greece. He took his Greek Sky box to the UK, not sure if that is an option these days.
I have just checked my bill and it is £108 PCM! Crikey, hadn't realised it had gone up so much, I have three HD boxes for that, £33 of which is the sport package, the removal of the two Eurosport channels from the package has made me question the value for money of this.

Especially as my Tenerife deal includes broadband as well. Even such things as PPV boxing fights come for free. What the market will bear, I suppose.

Also try ringing a couple of times on separate days. They sometimes have different deals/discounts available.
