That's exactly what he meant. I have no idea why someone would read that and think two players have had strokes, as if that wouldn't have made the news at the time... I mean, Harper played like he had something significantly wrong with him against Colchester in the EFL Trophy, but that wasn't a medical issue, he was just a poor footballer. |  |

I don't think he is. He's talking about "runs of injuries". He's just been asked about the high number of injuries this season and I believe is trying to discourage suggestions that the club's training methods or medical practices are leading to excessive problems, saying there have been only one or two such episodes. It might have been better punctuated / presented as:
"Always in football, you have a run of injuries and luck plays a part in it. We've had maybe one/two in the last three and a half years." [Post edited 7 Mar 12:20]
