Superb again I thought.

Going to have the best keeper in the championship next season. Looks a really good bit of business getting him.

Agree that had we had him since the season started, we may have had another half a dozen points and he made some good stops yesterday. However, don't think the kick against a Palace forward and the meek attempt to punch the corner they almost scored from quite merits the 'superb' accolade. I do like him though and thought he looked good alllast season too.

He’s a decent Championship keeper and should do okay for us next season.

Interesting, although not really a fair reflection on his individual performances and can't think of any goals that he has conceded that he should have saved, unlike the other two.

From a stats point of view he is just unlucky that his arrival coincided with us being even more pants than we were earlier in the season!

Looks good so far. Very good shot stopper. Brings a much needed calmness. Hasn't made silly mistakes.

I have question marks over his ability to dominate the area though. He doesn't have a physical presence. Hence corners are aimed at him: that did not happen with Muric.

It did make me think when I realised our form has dropped since he has come in. It is obvious he is an upgrade and those stats help clarify that there has been a slight uptick in defensive solidity since he came in (but not back to where we were at the start of the season with Muric). Clearly the issue is mostly with lack of goals scored and injuries in all positions have made a big impact.

To be fair though Muric has started a lot more games. Oh and he is shoit for what we paid.

It still puzzles me why some people like laying into some of our players. Muric being an example who was undermined by many fans. Yes, he made mistakes that cost us. And Palmer has been a great addition to the team.

But Palmer has made similar mistakes - for example at least two heart-in-the-mouth moments against Forest, which fortunately weren't punished. If Muric had made those, there are some on here that would have been super critical him. Not a mention about Palmer though.

Now, I'm not saying Palmer should be called our (God forbid), but its just illustrates the agenda that some people have against there latest subject of disdain.

Greatly outweighed by 2 top level saves 1v1.

I don't want to tempt fate but he just seems a "safe pair of hands", a phrase which stems from cricket.

Not really a fair reflection. Walton’s stats look poor but in fairness, he’s faced Liverpool twice and City in his half dozen or so appearances.

There is no agenda against him. The simple facts are he’s an erratic error-prone keeper, known for mistakes at Burnley, who we paid a LOT of money for and it hasn’t worked out. Barring an injury to Palmer, his Ipswich career is over and we’ll lose a lot of money when we try and move him on in the summer.

Add in the fact he was signed on the advice of goalkeeper.com analytics - and remember their lead analyst has zero experience in professional football and only career analyst role was at Tesco - and it’s not hard to see why fans aren’t impressed.

I thought of you yesterday when I saw the enjoyIllinois advertising at the Palace game.

He's OK.

Still annoying that muric had that bad spell as his height in the box was a real help with our defending on set pieces.

Palmer is a solid pro. Can't say I see much different between him and Walton so it's good to have two solid keepers to go with one who could be an incredible keeper if only he could fix his issues.

I saw that! And was texting to a mate that from a marketing perspective it’s kinda weird to be promoting an entire state. Aside from Chicago I can’t think of many touristy reasons to visit the rest of Illinois

Not sure he could have done much with the Spurs goals which really skew that stat but I do think Palmer’s shortcomings with the ball at his feet were clear against Spurs and yesterday. I suspect that will improve but he’s probably a 7/10 keeper most weeks with fewer flaws but a lower ceiling than Muric.

Palmer is definitely a better keeper than Walton. Muric is a better shot stopper and commands area better than both of them. Just his errors were punished.
