That Ratcliffe interview... 14:13 - Mar 11 with 1839 viewsMarshalls_Mullet

Seems to claim he didnt know about the removal of the £40k former players fund, and wasnt aware of any alternatives.

....and 'the club would be bust by Christmas' narrative is utter nonsense. That just means the OWNERS would have to invest a little more money, it wouldnt have folded!!

Ratcliffe is the new Manchester nightmare! The club secretary’s who served 60 years at the club, he refused to pay for her funeral. Which isn’t a crime but would have been a nice gesture. Alex Ferguson took care of that part. But two days after her death Ratcliffe asked her family if he could have her season ticket back to sell it !

Yeah, I am really struggling with this 'club would be bust' nonsense. A handful of clubs in the UK make money. I'm not sure if he's saying that they are in a whole other world of financial danger? But then that's caused by these Glazer debt repayments. Whole thing just seems like an absolute mess.

Very patronising too.

Re the free canteen meals that cost £1m a year. He firstly says, we have to go to the bank and ask to borrow that £1m. ...well, thats a choice of the ownership in terms of how they CHOOSE to fund Man Utd.

And he compounds it with, well the fans are paying for that, and they would rather it went into a player.

Rather than the silly narrative, he needs to own the decisions and just say 'I'd rather not give free meals, its my choice'.

He also attempts to say that the wages are on par with a mid table team, if you take out the salaries of players unavailable. If every team did that, it would probably still be top 6 in wages.

Every team has injuries, and it was their choice to loan out Rashford, Sancho etc.

The bits I've heard of it, reminded me a bit of the few times we heard from Marcus Evans, in that it's clear he doesn't really understand football at all.

The presentation of the new stadium stuff is sickeningly cringe.

Truly impaired.

It also reflects the approach Ratcliffe has taken in his other businesses: cut costs, bully staff who can't just walk away, support Brexit.

It won't work with footballers.

Yeah this was among the most ridiculous parts of the whole thing. So disingenuous - treating the fans for fools.

They are not in financial trouble at all - all PL clubs bar a couple, operate running losses.

That's because, everyone knows (including Jimmy) nobody makes money running football clubs, or sports teams in general, you make money when you sell them.

Bloke is a con man.

LOL. The five point plan. People actually lapped that sh1t up.

Same thing going on here, just media manipulation. Leading with taking about over paid and under performing players signed before he arrived sets it up perfectly.

I liked the bit where he dodged the question about whether he asked the actual captain of the women’s team, what her role was at the club.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

Monday evening - club would run out of cash by December if we don't cut these staff meals
Tuesday morning - he's a new stadium costing 2bn!

I know it's obviously not straightforward but tells you everything you need to know. Guys a crook.

...has constantly slagged off the ownership of Utd for the last few years, aligning himself with the fans desperately trying to be a proper "man of the people".

Now he's noshing off Radcliffe at every opportunity. I assume he has some potential financial gain in this redevelopment.

What a massive sycophant.
