Weekend advice 20:19 - Mar 12 with 2218 viewstaf123

Hi! I am going to Ipswich with my girlfriend this weekend for the game on saturday.
What pub/restaurant advice do you have regarding:

- Dinner friday evening. Should be a nice place but nothing fancy.
- Saturday morning. Which pub opens the earliest and can serve breakfast?
- Pre-game pub. Is there any pub where it can be some atmosphere?
- Saturday dinner. A little bit more fancy than friday.

Thanks and COYB!

My personal opinion.

1/ Kwan Thai
2/ Unfortunately you have just answered yourself with Wetherspoons - but Isaacs would be better.
3/ I suppose Bar Twenty One but I would prefer Arcade Tavern
4/Maybe Salthouse?

Just eaten at the Ocean Fish Platter restaurant on Upper Brook St and can highly recommend. Pretty relaxed inside but an excellent seafood menu and very generous portions

You can’t go far wrong being down the docks area for the duration.

You have Isaac’s, Salthouse, the grazing sheep, mariners, bristro on the quay, the last anchor, briar bank, the Nelson, a listers

Mix of pubs, bars, breakfast, lovely food.

Enjoy!

We’ll be good again... one day

The Waterfront (the restaurant, not the area) has never let me down. Much better than the Bistro on the Quay, in my opinion.

- Friday night: All good recommendations already but I'd chuck in Storico which is a nice little Italian place and Kervan Kitchen which is big and so you should get in, standard enough Turkish food but a nice restaurant.

- Saturday morning: I think the Woolpack opens at 10am and does a decent fry up, the Greyhound does food but not its normal menu and so not sure they have breakfast options. Another option is to go to Honey and Harvey in Town and then go to the pub from there.

- Pre-game pub: the Falcon is probably the most footbally, Greyhound and Arcade the best

- Saturday dinner: Waterfront Bistro or the Salthouse probably the best bets if you don't want to go outside of Ipswich.

If only the First Floor Club were still open to finish off a perfect Saturday.

A few in the Newt and Cucumber before popping over to Hollywoods. Not on a weekend though - indi night was much better.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
