Off to Syderstone in North Norfolk for a few days' break 07:15 - Mar 26 with 2717 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

Any tips for things to see/do?
We've been to Holkham Hall and Sheringham National Park last time we stayed in Norfolk (as recommended by people on here), which were both enjoyable.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

chips from the market place always used to be good. Can smell and taste them now.

Going back to the Cromer suggestions, for fish and chips, Mary Jane's on Garden Street is the one to visit.

Make sure to visit the Extra Digit Museum, with a display of additional fingers of many famous Norfolk folk. Ranging from Lord Nelson to Jeremy Goss - it’s fascinating to see what they achieved…

Alternatively, and probably a bit more genuine, a boat trip at Blakeney Point to watch the seals is a very good experience.

We went to the Norfolk Museum of Incest. I didn't enjoy but the wife said it was relatively good.

A mate of mine from the area gave it 3 thumbs up.

My daughter said to her mum that it was great, I told her to stop talking to herself.

If you go to Sheringham again, there are great views along the coast from the top of Beeston Hill. Just follow the coast path signs.
As an aside, was on that walk on the day of 9/11. Going into the pub and watching it unfold on the t/v was surreal.

They were the best. A bag of chips from Kelly’s, lots of salt and vinegar and you were in chip heaven.

When I took Mrs C around the place a few years ago, a big chunk of the market area was covered over. Oh well.

Though I’ve been many times in truth I don’t know Norwich itself very well, but I know there’s plenty to do.

It also has the biggest public toilet in Britain. Yellow seats, sour looking old bat outside flogging old cookery books and angrily waving an empty beer can about. Just don’t step in the puddle!

Plenty to do there. Sheringham, Cromer, Hunstanton, Wells all good. I’ve not been to Kings Lynn in decades and we are going there for a couple of days in June to tootle about. If you are interested in old buildings, Blickling Hall is quite interesting and the Broads are always a relaxing place.

Avoid Yarmouth. Spent time at my grandmothers during my childhood there and it was a dump then, bar the fish and chips. It’s a lot worse now!

I went to Cromer back in November for the first time in about 10 years.

Let's just say that the austerity years have not been kind to it. The pitch and putt course has been closed and the whole of North Lodge Park has just been allowed to go to ruin.

Things might look better now it is Spring, but it was an extremely sad sight.

There's been a few nice new shops and bars opening in the town in recent years, it feels like it's on the way back up slightly. In other words, you didn't see it at its worst. In the summer it's still a very busy a vibrant place.

Never spend money in Norfolk. It's a no no unless Town visit

Haha, an admirable sentiment.

North Norfolk is bloody lovely, though. To add to the above, a walk along the beach at low-ish tide from Sheringham to Cromer, or the other way from Overstrand to Cromer, is a beauty way to spend an afternoon.
