There will be a market for Muric. The stuff he's good at (or was before this season) is what clubs are increasingly looking for in goalkeepers. Maybe a loan to buy deal to Ligue 1 or Serie A? I could also see Russell Martin wanting him if his next job is at a club that can afford him.

Muric is one I could see going out to Turkey and us only having to (at most) take a small haircut. There will definitely be a market for him.

I've saying this for weeks, and even provided workings to illustrate why were unlikely to have to sell, and could get some more in. It's all going to come down to what interest there is, at what price, and the player's 'desire'. I still think we have an outside chance of retaining some loanees,

Some spots will be freed up by fringe players and/or those getting older/contract ending/a year left.

Some may come back and stay, but I'm doubtful about most, except Clarke (Harry will depend on which league we're in).

Ogbene will be back.

I expect we will retain most of the young talent we recruited in the last 12 months - only Delap being the big doubt.

Everyone is assuming Muric is done.

I'm not sure. He played 41 games for Burnley during a promotion winning season remember.
He's 26, yes he's had a tough season but I'd be surprised if the club didn't account for that possibility and still want to develop him.

Hladky didn't have a great start to his career with us, in League One. His stock was pretty high by the end wasn't it?

I was told quite reliably that Nottingham Forest are sniffing around Omari. Tried in January apparently, which we rightly refused.

We should be in quite a strong position really to not sell unless fees make it very worth our while:

Aro Muric - £8m - 4yr - £2m/yr
Alex Palmer - £2m - 4yr - £500k/yr
Connor Townsend - £500k - 2yr - £250k/yr
Jacob Greaves - £15m - 5yr - £3m/yr
Dara O'Shea - £12m - 5yr - £2.4m/yr

Omari Hutchinson - £22m - 5yr - £4.4m/yr

So we are only needing to amortise ~£27m a year on transfer fees

As long as we have the cash flow, which presume we do judging by how things have been up until now, I can't imagine there is any pressure to sell anyone as we will be getting a ~£60m parachute payment and with natural income levels of somewhere in £25-30m range will still give us an astronomical wage bill for the Championship [and all our players will have a wage cut in there]

Obviously if someone offers us £40m for Omari then we'll sell as hard to stand in a players way when someone wants them that much - but no-one is going to be getting a bargain away from us this off season

Agree. Imagine we're pretty attached to getting a significant profit on him too given the amount of development we've given him in the last 2 seasons.

Agreed we are in a strong position we dont need to sell anyone, but we will if we get offers we deemed acceptable (depending on clauses) but even if they have those i doubt the club would have signed them without the clause making good profit, so either way given the long contracts the club decides our fate, lets remember were a trading club everyone has a price and we will replace them.

We don't know how significant the cuts are, and given how much we've overpaid on fees, I can imagine some of these signings will be paid well over the odds for what they are really worth, even with a relegation drop built in. Players' agents are no-mugs, in fact Philogenes' agent deserves his own hall of fame entry here for getting two fees for him in a single season, given what was really on offer there.

We will need to sell players and reduce wages. There will be changes to the squad, and we will lose some of our better players. No one gets relegated unscathed simply because they have a low wage bill compared to the rest of the Premier League. Thats not how this works.

Not saying we wont sell some players, but there is a big difference between forced selling to balance the books and opportunistic sales to allow us to strengthen the squad

Opportunistic sales is a good way of putting it.

*If* (big if) we get £50m for Delap and £40m for Omari, that's £150m revenue for the club (Inc. £60m parachute payments), plus £25m-£30m in year-round commercial revenue. That's not far off a year in the PL, so you'd imagine we'd have the capacity to recruit in a similar vein to this season. In this scenario, it wouldn't be for the lack of finance to sign quality players, it'd be convincing them to play in the Champ. Keep KMac and that becomes a whole lot easier.
