Lots of talk this week about how bad these two teams are.

- Southampton being the earliest team to be relegated.

- Leicester having 8 home defeats without scoring a single goal.

Sobering to think that we haven't managed to beat either of these teams this season.

We really need to beat Leicester away to regain some pride.

That’s unfair. Every neutral and pundit says they’ve enjoyed Ipswich this season and we’ve been a fun addition to the league, we’ve just lacked the cutting edge at times and the finer margins have been against us. We’re going down and rightly so but not through any lack of effort and we’ve brought something to the league. That’s been the general consensus.

Whereas Southampton and Leicester have stunk the gaf out

We've definitely brought something to the league. A great away day for fans of other clubs. Away pub across the road from the station with the ground in view just down the road and when they get in the ground a 67% chance of enjoying a win and just a 6% chance of getting beaten. SKMc's team will be missed.

I was there when McKenna's ITFC won in the Premier League at Home. Our only home win in a year.

Every single post of yous is anti Ipswich and anti-McKenna. Pretty clear you support anyone but Ipswich. I vaguely remember you being very defensive of Plymouth a few seasons back so maybe them? Are you a fan of incest may I ask? That’ll give us the answer..

Town fan since I was a boy, seen 4 top div relegation now, 3 promotions to top div, will be in my seat in SBR2 on Sunday as usual. Bit pi%%ed off with seeing about 3000 away fans enjoying themselves most games when SKMc has only managed to give us one win from 16. Anyway you're from Romford which explains a lot! Admit I'm SKMc sceptic but that does not make me anti Ipswich!

The bottom line is that 17 teams are better than us and we haven't been able to bridge the gap.
We are demonstrably better than 2 teams, one who've sacked their manager and the other who will no doubt do the same.
I'd say we're much more likely to bounce back up than the other 2.

I sincerely hope you are right about us bouncing back. But I believe a lot will be on the in's and out's after the season is over. We more or less have to resign ourselves to losing Delap. But how many others may follow ? Burgess, Tuanzebe, Davis, Hutchinson, O'Shea, Loungo. We know also that Phillips is another certainty. So that means an almost complete rebuild of the midfield. Possibly the same with the defence and another forward to replace Delap. Of course it's all pie in the sky and Delap and Phillips could be the only ones to go. If the worst happened and many go that I mentioned we would be where we were before our season in the Premier League where more than a dozen went and were replaced. That has to be a worry as it takes more than a few weeks to get a team to gel.

They’ve both already sacked a manager this season.
Both will twist again before next season, so they’ll have had five managers between going up and starting next season.
If KM decides to stay at least we have a bit of stability going for us.

For years I have been the promoter of siding with stability, development, growth in favour of knee jerk short term manager changes, preferring coaching set up changes before manager although that has rarely happened.

I have also fallen on the side of holding too long and seen abject failure for managers and at times they’ve stayed too long, MM, PL et al. I am 100% behind KMck and really believe he does stay rebuilds and achieves another promotion, it’s going to be tough but this will help prove or disprove my long held view, stability beats flapping about changing managers as a constant. Stick by and double down taking a view that players can improve and perform in the stable environment. This summer is critical, more player chance, redeveloping the winning culture and needing 30 wins from 46 means hitting ground running in Aug.

Wow! You're putting a lot into this.

He needn’t have bothered.

It’s a rather weedy attempt by volume of drivel to prove he follows this club, which he clearly doesn’t.

No one wants a massive exodus but if there was one similar to those you suggest we'd still have the bones of a very decent championship squad, plus the money and dare I say reputation to recruit that much better over the summer.

Those potential outs still leave a back five of Palmer Johnson Greaves Woolf Townsend. Luongo was always going to go, and two loans in the centre of midfield always meant a rebuild one way or another. If hutch goes it's a blow, but we have Philogene, Clarke, ogbene, szmodic, Chaplin, Burns etc as those attacking roles and wings. I think the sales would have to be even deeper than those to really hurt.

I'm quite looking forward to a bit of tweaking if the squad over the summer to be honest. Spend the £30m from Delap on a couple of bright physical box to box beasts, and a youngster up top raring to prove himself. Bring it on! A boy can dream!

As I see it, we are in a far better situation than Leicester and Southampton which given how far away from us they were in every way two years ago is something. I would say that failure to beat Southampton at home killed our season for me. The Leicester home game was a travesty too. A real knock back.

Regardless of them, the table says it all. We are a mile off the rest of the PL points wise if not in performance. They’ve given it a go, but have come up short, mainly due to a lack of of midfield and subsequent inability to control games. We’ve played like the away team home and away much if the time.

It is what it is. I think we have a really good base of talented players who’ve been at the club a while in addition to a lot of youngish talent brought in which will make us very competitive next year. I hope change is kept to a minimum beyond the obvious departures, strengthening that midfield and support for Hirst, who is an excellent player, if a tad fragile.
