Poll: Would this current Town team beat the current narwich team

Perhaps I'm being simplistic but the reason to me is that we are relegated all bar mathematically and Delap is leaving bar some absolute chaos.

Giving Hirst game time is sensible but his record of keeping fit is basically non-existent so using them interchangeably is perfect.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

McKenna said he had a rib injury and shouldn't have even made the bench.

No.

He was injured.

McKenna: Philogene Injury Looks Like a Blow 13th Apr 2025 17:36
Town boss Kieran McKenna admits Jaden Philogene’s injury “looks like a blow”, the England U21 international having been forced off with a knee problem only four minutes after being introduced from the bench during the 2-2 draw at Chelsea, while explaining why Liam Delap was on the bench and Kalvin Phillips was absent from the squad. 4

if that was the case, he wouldn't have been on the bench, quite capable of getting a yellow card as a sub (or even on without coming on!).

far more likely that he was (as widely reported) injured!

Can’t open the link.

But for me there’s no point playing Delap anymore. We know he’s off, he’s value is what it is, get Hirst some mins in those legs and PL experience.

He’s our main man now, and should be the soul focus

Don't see the point in not playing Delap. Get the joy out of watching him while we can. Don't risk Hirst getting crocked and missing pre-season or more.

It's not like we can practice setups for next season, there's going to be more squad churn than just the striker.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

In the last home game when delap somersaulted over and landed badly he injured his rib. He is continuing to play through the pain. It is sensible to play hirst instead of delap. We have no other strikers. What options do we have.

Make up what you will in your own head but the facts are there and f you want to see them. Or ignore them it is up to you

One of those famous haven't mentioned it or haven't had a game in 8 day rib injuries, all in a week when there has been massive distraction on his release clause?

Feels like clever McKenna management.

Not sure Hirst will be first choice, I think we will spend a wedge of the Delap cash on a decent championship striker ala Maja

The only Muff in Town.

Hirst to MOTD in a few posts. I thought MOTD had finished years ago, I don’t know when last watched it. Hirst is a beast and will hopefully be a big part of our route back to EPL (let’s assume this EPL will still be our goal when this season is tidied up).

I thought we played pretty damn well with Hirst leading the line. 2-0 away at Chelsea. I'm not so sure thst scoreline would have happened if Delap had led the line!

Sounds like we are keen but a bit of a gamble, he does look like a good fit for us. You would think we would look at someone who has history of scoring regularly in the championship

Plus whilst I don't wish injury on anyone... an injury that sees Delap injured over the summer and maybe the start of the season could see him lining up for us until January. Can you imagine him the Championship? It would be a big boon to our promotion push.
